Ailith clapped her hands, “Ye jus' let me know when the wedding is and we'll be there.”

Ken’s face entered the camera and Kian grinned at his dad, and his dad said, “You be careful with my other girl. I mean it Kian. You may be my son, and I love you. But Karalee is my girl. She is just as important as Emery. Take care with her.”

Karalee took Gran’s phone, “Thank you Ken. And thank you Ailith.”

Ken and Ailith shook their heads, “When yer ready, call us ma and da. Okay?”

Karalee grinned and blew them both kisses and hugged Gran.

Then handed the phone back to Gran and Kian said his goodbyes while Karalee slipped from the room to shower.

He kissed Gran’s cheek and she smiled up at him, “You know how happy we are for both of you. She's always been made to be part of our family. Your ma and I both knew that she was going to be your wife one day. We love you both.”

Kian thanked his gran and went to check on Karalee.

She was sitting on her bed and had a dazed look on her face, and Kian dropped to his knees in front of her.

She blinked and looked at him, his face was full of concern.

“Are you okay?” He asked and Karalee shook her head, “I've always loved your parents. They saved me from certain hell and death. I don’t know where I would be without them or your family. You, Emery and Reid. I have always known that they love me and knowing that they love me still and can’t wait to be part of their family is everything to me. I have wished for it more than you know. More than I have ever wanted anything. You were always my dream.”

He smiled at her, “You are mine. Since we were young, I did my best to protect you from your mom and when you went home, I followed you. I saw how much you hurt, and it took everything in me to not just break down the door and steal you. I hated that woman for what she did to you. I always have. And once again, I'm sorry that I ever let you believe that I abandoned you. You have been and always will be my first thought in the morning and the last thought before I sleep. I dream of you most nights. Dream of our life that I've always seen us having. My family loves you because you are worth loving. And because my ma knew that you were someone that needed it more than anyone else. We have always known you were part of our family, and now it will be official.”

She looked at him, “Official? We're going to get married?”

He nodded, “I want that more than I want to see the stars in the sky. I've always loved you and will continue doing so until I take my last breath and even then, I won’t stop. I'll follow you to your next life and love you then as well. You are mine as much as I am yours.”

She knelt down in front of him and he pulled her against his chest, “Don’t doubt the love that we have always felt for you. The love that we have always given you. My ma would have adopted you in a heartbeat if it were possible. She didn’t give you love out of pity, she loved you because you are you. And are so lovable.”

She smiled up at him and he stood, “Now come on. Get dressed and ready for work, and I'll drop you off on my way.”

She nodded and he kissed her quickly, “I love you. As soon as we can, I am making you my wife and I will be counting down the seconds until that day comes.”

She smiled and he left, shutting the door behind him, hurrying downstairs to take a quick shower and to get dressed in his uniform.

When he was ready, he hurried up the stairs and there she was. She was dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans and a red t-shirt.

Her damp hair was pulled into a braid down the back of her head and he wrapped his hand around it and kissed her.

Gran laughed, “Don’t be late for work.”

Kian stood and laughed, “Oops. Let’s go my angel.”

She put her hand in his and he drove her to work and then parked at his.

He winked at her through the window and then walked in the station.

Brek was there, and Sienna was at his side. Her stomach had gotten big and round and Kian wanted that with Karalee so much.

Brek smiled at him, “Hey there. You ready for the day?”

He nodded, and Scott and Stacy walked in behind him and Stacy’s stomach was also big.

Scott was grinning and helped his wife to her desk.

She laughed, “I can get in my own chair you know.”

He smirked, “You can, but since you are so tiny and have such a large belly, I want to help.”
