Her eyes went soft, and she kissed him. “I'm sorry I didn’t tell anyone. Not even Emery. I just thought since I wasn’t in the same town as him, I would be safe.”
He pulled her in closer, “I know. I just kept thinking of the fact that he would have taken you. That you would have been gone and I couldn’t handle it. I need you to be safe. I want our life. I want the future I have always imagined with you. Don’t make stupid decisions that will take that away.”
She smacked his shoulder, “I don’t make stupid decisions.”
He laughed, “Alright. I concede. I know you truly weren’t going to get taken and that you were going to be careful. I just knew that no man in their right mind wouldn’t want to take you, especially one who thinks to have some sort of claim on you.”
She sighed, “I was terrified to come alone. For that very reason and even though I told you I didn’t want you to come, I knew deep down that you needed to come. That I need you as much as you need me.”
He kissed her and they picked up right where they left off.
Making love again and again, until they passed out in each other's arms.

When they woke, they drove and talked, and laughed.
He fell more in love with her than ever and when his phone rang in his pocket, he let out a pout.
But he picked up the phone and Grayson’s voice came through the other end, “Kian? Man, hey. It’s been a long time.”
Kian grinned, “What’s up Gray? It has been a while.”
Grayson cleared his throat, “I have some news.”
Kian felt his grin slip from his face at the sound of Gray’s voice. “What? Is everything okay?”
Gray let out a soft noise, “Yes and no. Isabelle woke up. She doesn’t remember it all yet, and has struggled with her memory of that night, but wanted to thank you. And Reid. Is there any way you both can come?”
Kian looked at Karalee, “Reid was in an accident man. He can’t fly or drive for a while, but I am already on my way there with my girl.”
Gray let out a startled sound, “Your girl? You got her to talk to you?”
