She looked beautiful and he kissed her cheek and gave her the flower he had bought for her.
Karalee came down the stairs just seconds later looking like a wet dream come to life.
Her dress was a deep emerald green, that almost matched her eyes.
It was sleeveless and plunged low in the front in a ‘V’ shape. But was still modest.
It had a sparkle belt around her waist and then fell to the floor in straight lines.
He almost swallowed his tongue and Ailith discreetly cleared her throat.
He blinked and then stepped forward and helped her down the last few stairs.
“Um, you look, you look good.” Was all he said, and he handed her the other flower, noticing his fingers were shaking and grateful his jacket of his tux was longer and covered his erection he had gotten.
She blushed and thanked him and then he helped the girls to the table where they ate a nice dinner that Ailith had cooked for them all.
Then he drove them to the dance.
Emery pulled Karalee out to the dance floor and he followed along, making sure that no boys got too close.
When it came time for a slow dance, he pulled Karalee in first and Emery laughed, leaving them and sitting at a table, happy to drink a bottle of water.
The feeling of her in his arms made him want to close his eyes and savor it.
She refused to look up at him and he held her waist gently.
She finally met his eyes, and whispered, “Kian?”
He nodded, “Yes?”
She bit her lush lip and then let out a breath, “Why have you stopped being my friend? Did I do something wrong? Or say something wrong?”
He went still for a minute and then shook his head, “It wasn’t you.”
She gave him a confused look, “Then why? I just want to be your friend. It’s all I have ever wanted. Why have you pushed me away?”
Kian hung his head and then shook it, “I can’t tell you. I wish I could, but I can’t.”
She gave him a nod, and then dropped her arms from around his neck.
“I need to use the bathroom. Excuse me.”
She pushed away from him, causing him to drop his arms and the ache hit his chest hard.
A girl stepped over to him, he didn’t even know her name. She wasn’t important enough to him to care.
“Hey Kian. You look amazing tonight. Can I dance the rest of the song with you?”
He looked down at her, “No.”
Then he walked away from her and followed after Karalee.
She didn’t go to the bathroom like she said but pushed out the doors to the outside.
“Karalee, wait!” He called after her and she hurried faster.
He made it to her side within a few strides of his much longer legs and she refused to look up at him.
