She laughed and nodded, and the men all cheered. She smiled so hard her face hurt and the big man wrapped her in a bear hug making her laugh.

“Well congrats girl. We have all been rooting for Kian since he told us about you. Glad you kept him on his toes.”

He put her back down and held out his massive hand, which she took. “The name is King. Xavier King. I worked with Kian and Reid on the force.”

“Karalee White. Pleasure.”

The men all stood, all different heights and ethnicities and introduced themselves one by one.

There was a guy with light blue eyes and black hair, he was shorter than Graham, but was solidly built. His name was Dustin Jones and he too worked with Reid and Kian on the force.

Then the next guy took her hand. He had beautiful dark skin, and dark brown eyes, and was about the same height as Graham. His name was Sebastian Williams and he had on Chicago Fire Department shirt on.

The last guy had caramel colored skin and dark brown eyes as well. He too was about Graham’s height and his name was Luis Santiago, he had the same shirt on as Sebastian and she smiled, loving their easy friendship. After she met them all, they made room at their table for her and Graham.

Xavier had her sit right next to him and she told them about Kian and what he did to win her over.

They laughed and groaned, at the good parts and she laughed right along with them.

When she told them what happened to Reid, Xavier got upset. “I wish my partner and I were there. We could have helped.”

She put her hand on his arm, “It’s okay now. He's fine. I promise.”

Graham spoke up, “I’m glad he is okay. Knowing how badly burns hurt? Yeah. That sucks.”

Xavier nodded, and she kissed his cheek, which made the man’s cheeks flame.

She ate the waffles and loved them. They were light and fluffy, covered with whipped cream, syrup and raspberries, and they had just the right amount of crunch to them.

When Graham told the men about Kian and Gray and what they found out, Xavier stood, “Men, I have a feeling we need to help.”

Sebastian stood, “I'm game.”

The other men stood, “We just got off shift. We have two days off now. Let’s go.”

She stood and Graham laughed, “You want to come with? Apparently, these guys don’t want to be left out anymore.”

She looked around in confusion, “What is going on?”

Xavier looked down at her, “We are going to help Kian with anything he needs. The ones who are on the force will do anything for their own. Plus, these men here, well, they all respect Kian and Reid. And we help our own. Help our friends when they need it. And I just know that they need it.”

She looked around at the men and thanked them all and Xavier led her out to a massive SUV.

He helped her into the front seat and then everyone else piled in the back.

They drove to the police station and Xavier disappeared inside.

When he came back out, he had two more guys with him, one dark haired and one an older man with salt and pepper hair.

They talked to Xavier for a minute and the guy with the salt and pepper hair shook his head, and then finally nodded.

Xavier grinned and got back in the car, “Good news. We are good to go. He knows of the situation and is worried for Kian. He just doesn’t want any of us to get hurt. Since most of them aren’t cops he can’t legally help us and we aren’t legally supposed to be there, but I am going to help my friend.”

Everyone else nodded and she turned to look at Graham. He winked at her and then they got on the road.

She could only pray that Kian was okay and that they were coming to just pick up the pieces.
