Gave him the cold shoulder and he knew he deserved it, but it still hurt.

He had to catch himself from reaching out to her, and to stop himself from dropping to his knees and begging for forgiveness.

All he wanted was her, but he had to keep his promise to his ma. She expected it from him, and he would not cause Karalee any more pain by trying to make them both grow up too fast.

So not only did he throw himself into school, he tutored kids on the side and worked out for hours on end in his room until he fell into his bed in exhaustion.

One of the girls he tutored was a friend of his. Maria would sit and talk to him about her life with her girlfriend and how hard it was for her parents to accept her.

So he was busy and Kian didn’t want to ask him for advice. Reid didn’t date much, if at all. So he wasn’t the man to ask for advice.

Reid sympathized with him, even though he wasn’t sure how to help him.

It didn’t stop him from planning and doing all he could so that if she ever forgave him, that they could start their life together.
