Rose
Northumberland, England April 1813
Rose woke the next morning to a lonely bed. She knew Cabe must be getting ready for their wedding, but she missed him.
Getting up from bed she stood and sighed. Her body felt well-loved and she rubbed the small round bump softly.
“Good morning little one. I am marrying your father today.”
That sentence made her smile and she washed quickly using the small basin of water and finding the perfect dress to wear today.
A knock sounded on her door and it opened. Lydia, Lily, Eden, Rhia, Emily and Margaret walked in her room.
Everyone gave her hugs and kisses on her cheek and she loved each moment.
Lydia held her hands and looked at the dress she picked out.
It was one of the new ones she had not worn yet and it was a soft ivory color.
It had small sleeves and the bodice was tight on her breasts and it tied with a ribbon under them, and the rest of it flowed loosely around her body.
It showed her small stomach off and Rose had not fixed her hair yet.
Lydia smiled, “You look magnificent darling.”
Rose smiled, “Thank you mother.”
Rhia walked up, “I asked Julia to come help with your hair, if that’s all right?”
Rose nodded, “Thank you Rhia. Julia is a godsend.”
Rhia smiled, and a small knock sounded again, and Lily opened the door and found Julia on the other side.
Julia had a wide grin and it made everyone in the room smile as well.
Julia walked to Rose’s side and hugged her. “Congratulations on everything Rose. Rhia asked if I may do your hair?”
Rose nodded and Julia led her to her vanity, and when she was done, Rose’s hair was pulled up into an intricate design and she felt beautiful.
“Julia! It’s beautiful! Thank you.”
Julia smiled, “You are welcome Rose. I am so happy for you.”
Rose kissed Julia’s cheek and then Julia hugged Rhia and left.
Everyone left the room aside from Lydia and Rose hugged her mother.
“Will Jacob walk me down the aisle?”
Lydia grinned, “Of course he will. He loves you Rose. So much.”
Rose sighed and Lydia led her from the room and found Jacob outside waiting for them.
He kissed Lydia softly and hugged her. Then he kissed Rose’s cheek and hugged her as well.
“Are you ready my loves? Cabe is downstairs pacing. It’s like he is afraid you will leave him waiting.”
Rose laughed, “Silly man. He has my heart.”
