Her dress was still damp where he had sucked her nipple through it but was quickly drying and Cabe felt like pouting. And doing it all over again so that everyone knew she was taken. But at the same time, he also did not want anyone to look at her nipples. Those were for his mouth and his eyes alone.
Cabe could see the small marks he had made on her skin and wanted to pound his chest.
She was good and marked. She looked down at where his gaze was and she blushed. “I couldn’t do anything about those. But I do need to find Persephone. Will you come see me tomorrow? I have to go to the orphanage, and I think I have another ball with Persephone that night, but I will not dance with another man. I swear it. Please come see me.”
Cabe nodded, “I will do my best Rose. I want nothing more than to spend every waking moment with you.”
She smiled and Cabe lifted her gloved hand to his lips. Kissing it softly, he let her walk quickly to Persephone’s side where she whispered in the other girl’s ear.
Persephone looked a little sad for half a moment, and then nodded.
She waved to her parents and Cabe watched them all walk over to the hosts to give their goodbyes.
Cabe gave a soft sigh of relief and made his way out of the house, keeping Rose in his sights at all times.
He would not rest until she was home safely.
This night was not how he imagined it going, but he would not regret taking her the way he did.
He might later, but was still riding high, knowing that he claimed her as his own. That he would be the only man to do so.
Watching Rose walk into her house after the carriage ride there, he wanted nothing more than to go into her house and claim her again.
But he needed to work now. Finding the Renegade was not going to be easy, as it had already proved difficult.
He needed to check a few more places before going to his house and he would do so now.
