The Renegade
Dec, 1812
Charles sat at the table in his large and opulent cabin and sighed with happiness.
His plans were finally coming together. He would have the death of Captain Cabe James the way he was supposed to when they took his ship in the first place.
And it would happen on his terms. Not on the Captain’s terms. Even though Cabe was certain that he was in London, that had never been the case.
His right-hand man was and had been from the start. Lucius was just as evil and blood thirsty as he himself was.
And he had sent back letter after letter telling him about every facet of Cabe’s life. They were very thorough and detailed, and Charles knew everything there was to know about the Captain.
How he had come to his friend's aid and saved the women from their abduction. Charles wanted to go after him then, but it was not time yet.
Cabe had had no idea he was being watched. Thought for certain he was finished with war and was going to be left alone.
That small fact made Charles laugh. Cabe would never be left alone. Not until Charles heard his screams for the first time and took his life.
But until then, he would let Cabe dabble with his woman and try to be happy.
At least for the moment. Everyone deserved a good fuck before they died.
And he was benevolent enough to let Cabe do just that. But Cabe kept being stubborn.
Lucius said that mainly it was the threats and the fact that he had lost his leg that kept him from claiming his woman.
He had started to take the threats seriously and was afraid at first to get close to his woman. But he must have changed his mind.
That bothered him, but once again he would let Cabe have a little bit of time with his delicious woman before his life ended.
Charles laughed. He remembered the day that Cabe had been rescued and had seen the blast that sent Cabe flying off the ship and it had made him crow with happiness.
Cabe had brought it on himself. They should have never been helped and Charles blamed it on Cabe.
Plus, he did not get a scream from Cabe. He needed his victims to scream.
That was that. And oh, the things he had in store for Cabe were going to make him scream.
That was damn certain. Charles poured himself a glass of perfectly aged whiskey and looked out the windows of the cabin to the open water.
He looked out at the sea, his plans swirling in his head as he drank the whiskey slowly.
He would be taking a woman tonight. He needed a release and would get one. Maybe he would take more than one woman. He liked having a variety.
That thought also made him smile and he drank the rest of his glass in one swallow.
Tonight, would be good indeed and in the next few weeks Charles would tie up all of his loose ends he needed to in order to be happy with his life.
It would be the greatest few weeks of his life.
