Cabe
Sailing in the Ocean, Jan 1813
After almost 4 weeks of nonstop drills and learning to fight, he felt that his crew was ready for anything and Cabe wanted nothing more than to meet the Renegade on the water.
He could feel it deep inside that it was coming, and he made certain everyone was ready for any situation.
They had gone over every single thing they could think of that the Renegade might throw their way, and Cabe felt that because of this they would be ready.
Nathaniel was keeping watch, along with the men in the crow’s nest and Tristan had just taken over the wheel.
Cabe had gone to his room and pulled off his clothes.
He rubbed his leg where the prosthetic had rubbed his skin too tightly and after it stopped stinging, Cabe sat back with a sigh.
He pulled the pieces of paper out from his jacket that was lying on the bed beside him and Rose’s handkerchief.
Her smell had started to fade, and it hurt him to not have her scent surrounding him.
He unfolded the paper that had the proof of her virginity stained on its surface, and Cabe thought of her.
He still could not believe he had not taken her virginity on his bed at home. Where he would have hung his sheet from the wall like a tapestry.
He was too far gone at that moment. After seeing man after man dance with his woman, he could take it no longer.
Cabe smiled at that memory and prayed that when he got back, that he could give her a different night. The one that should have been their first time over again.
Yes, they had several other passionate encounters, but he wanted nothing more than to prove to her that they were more than just a quick passionate moment.
That he would show her just how much he loved her by taking it nice and slow.
He longed for that and shut his eyes, dreaming of his Rose.

Cabe was awakened by a harsh pounding on the cabin door. He sat straight up and knew without a doubt it was time.
He buckled his prosthetic on and pulled up his pants. Then he pulled a shirt on, buckled his thick leather bracers on his wrists and had his boots on within seconds.
He grabbed his sword and gun belt and was out of the door to his cabin within a minute of the knock.
He hurried to the wheel and each of his men stood at the side of the ship, looking out at something on the dark and quiet sea, and sure enough a large black boat was sailing in the distance.
Still some ways away, but it was there as he had predicted.
Everyone was silent as Cabe had instructed and he saw each of the men grab their weapons, and with no sound, they all went to their stations.
Waiting for the inevitable war that was to happen.
There was hardly any light on the water, and it was still night, but Cabe could see men on the Renegade’s ship and saw the lights that were lit on there as well.
Each man was preparing for battle on that ship too, but they did not know that Cabe was waiting for them. That his crew had been prepared for this moment from the beginning.
He and his crew had made up hand signals so that they could stay silent until the last possible moment.
When everyone was in position, Cabe waited until he was certain it was the Renegade’s ship and gave the signal.
He was good and done waiting for something to happen, had the last of his patience for this battle gone a long time ago.
