Case sighed, “Of course. I want nothing to do with the title. I am done with that life. The only thing I have missed in London was you. And I am saddened by the fact that you went through so much and we weren’t there to be by your side. I apologize Cabe. For my selfishness.”

Cabe stood and walked to his brother, “There is nothing you need to apologize for Case. I understand why you left, and I don’t fault you, nor am I upset I had to do everything alone. It was better for me to figure it out for myself anyway. It made me stronger for it.”

Case smiled, “I am proud of you Cabe. You are a strong man. I couldn’t have handled everything the way you have.”

Cabe hugged Case close. “Thank you for saying that Case. My ship will be leaving soon. Do you wish to join me?”

Case looked at Emily, and then at their mother. Emily nodded, and so did their mother.

“We can be ready in a sennight. Is that all right with you?”

Cabe nodded and everyone smiled. They spent the rest of the night talking and Cabe’s mother berated him for his stupidity and his worry over his leg with Rose.

“If she loves you, why would she care about your leg?”

Cabe laughed, “Trust me mother. She was very cross with me when I told her how I felt.”

Margaret laughed, “I can imagine. I cannot wait to meet my soon to be daughter.”

She looked at him and raised her eyebrow, “She is going to be my daughter soon, right?”

Case snorted and Cabe smiled. “Yes, I bought her ring before I left and if I hadn’t gotten the Renegade’s last letter, I would have asked her then. But as it was, I had to leave her.”

Margaret smiled, “I know you did. I am glad that you are all right, and I know you are anxious to get back to her.”

Cabe nodded, “I am. I have been away for over two months now and it takes just over a month if we are lucky and have good winds the entire way to sail back from here. I long to see her face again. I am simply glad that you are all going to meet her and know how wonderful she is.”

Margaret smiled and then yawned. Case had made Emily retire long ago and Cabe yawned as well.

“I will see all of you in the morning. Nathaniel and I will go back to my ship for the night.”

Margaret nodded, and so did Case. Cabe knew their house was not that large and would rather sleep in his own bed.

He left and smiled the entire way back to his ship. His family was coming home with him. Finally.

It would be so perfect when he saw Rose again. She would meet his mother and his brother and sister by law.

And his nephew. The lad was adorable and had come in for a few hours while they had caught up.

Oliver was still young, just starting to crawl and Cabe loved him.

He could not wait to see Rose round with his child and hoped it would be sooner rather than later.

He got to his bed and lay back. Happy and content.

Now all he needed was his woman in his arms and life would be exactly what he wanted it to be.
