Charlotte came out of the house, “Your mother sent me to tell you that Eden had started her labor.”
Rhia let out a soft cry and looked up at Aidan. “Their baby is only two weeks younger than Alexander. Oh Aidan. I am so happy.”
The four of them hurried into the house and Brooks peeked his head out of the training room.
“Is it time?” He asked and Persephone nodded, grinning at him.
He blew her a kiss and then said, “Please find me when you can.”
She blew him a kiss back and mouthed that she loved him.
Which he mouthed back and then winked at her.
She hurried up the stairs after Aidan and Rhia, and Aidan kept hold of Alexander.
“I will keep him until he is hungry. Go help Eden in any way you can.”
Rhia nodded and they hurried to the suite that was Cole’s. He was pacing outside the room back and forth and Aidan laughed, “Brother, you can go in. I did.”
Cole looked up, fear and worry on his face, “What if something happens? I cannot lose her Aidan.”
Aidan tucked his son into his arm tighter and held Cole’s shoulder with the other, while Rhia and Persephone each hugged an opposite side. “You need to have faith. Mother is the best healer there is, and Lily is there as well as Rose. And Anneliese. There are too many women who know too many things to have anything go wrong. Go hold your wife. See your child be born. You will regret it if you do not.”
Cole let out a breath and nodded. He looked Aidan in the eye, “Thank you.”
Then he pulled his shoulders back and walked in the room with Rhia and Persephone not far behind.
The door shut behind them and Eden was in a robe and a nightgown, and she was calm and collected as she walked around the room.
She walked to Cole’s side, and he smiled down at her and kissed her.
“Are you all right my love?” She asked and he nodded, “I am. I talked to my brother. Everything is fine. How are you?”
She smiled at him, “I am about to meet our child. I am flying.”
Persephone grinned and Eden held onto Cole as a contraction hit.
She just looked into his eyes and did not make a sound.
Just breathed. When it was over, she walked around some more.
Cole stayed with her the entire time and each time she had a contraction, she stared in his eyes and just breathed.
Lydia told them that her water had broken in the night some time and that with each hour, Eden’s contractions grew closer and closer together.
Within twenty minutes though, her contractions were hard and strong, and Lydia convinced her to sit on the bed.
Cole was much like Aidan and climbed behind her, holding her up and lacing their fingers together.
Lydia sat down to check Eden’s progress and said, “The head is crowning. Eden! Push!”
Eden looked up in surprise but did as she was asked and pushed. With three pushes, their baby was born with a wail and Lydia cleaned her off and handed her to her mother.
“It’s a girl.” Lydia said and Eden let out a laugh, “I knew it. Oh, Cole, I told you it was a girl.”
He let out a laugh and looked down at the tiny girl. She had brown hair also, but her hair was lighter than Alexander’s.
Eden kissed the baby’s cheek softly and as Lydia finished up the birth and cleaned up, she lay back against Cole’s chest and stared down at the tiny bundle in her hands.
