She smiled and ran her hand over the swell of her stomach. “He is rather active. Always kicking and rolling. I cannot wait to hold him.”
Brooks smiled again, and Eden grabbed his hand, placing it on the swell and held it there.
He raised his eyebrow, “Just wait,” she said and within a moment a hearty kick came from the babe and he chuckled.
“You certainly do have a strong babe.”
Cole laughed and moved up behind Eden. He kissed her neck softly and Brooks wished once again that his woman was here.
Removing his hand from Eden’s grip, he stepped back, “Well. Back to the matter at hand. If she is not home, and where we can find her, then what do you propose we do? I will not let anyone harm my woman again. Nor will I let anyone touch what is mine.”
Burk cleared his throat. “Since we know where they are to be wed, then if you aren’t opposed to stopping a wedding, we can take her from there.”
Brooks smiled, knowing it was deadly and full of menace. “Good, as long as we get my wife, I care not for stopping her wedding.”
With that, he walked out of Burk’s office and to his chambers. He needed a minute.
To think, to plan. And he was going to be counting down the hours until he got her back.
