Gunner

Watching Arielle drive off was harder than he thought it would be.

Cassidy was yawning and he knew she only had a few more streets left in her before he had to take her home and put her to bed.

They did just that, and Genna texted him, “Don’t forget her bedtime. She needs to get ready for it and calm down. Can you bring her home so she can?”

He grinned, knowing if Cassidy was sleeping, he could call Arielle.

He wanted to talk to his mermaid again. He was still in shock that he had kissed her.

She was his first kiss. And damn it, he wanted more. It wasn’t lust.

He knew she was it for him weeks ago, knew it even more after meeting her and talking to her.

Kissing her though? That was the cherry on top.

She tasted like cotton candy, and her shiny lips called to him like she was a true mermaid and a siren.

He didn’t wait to heed the call. And wasn’t sad that he had.

He couldn’t wait for more. To taste her everywhere.

There went his hard cock again. Damn it. He needed her, but knew it would have to wait. They just met and he would respect her as his future wife and mother of his children. No matter if his balls were blue.

He drove to Genna’s house and thought the street in front of their house was exceptionally crowded.

But it was halloween. So it was bound to be busy.

He pulled in the driveway, and helped Cassidy from the back seat. She was practically bouncing and he laughed, “Ready for bed are you?”

She looked up at him and then something dawned on her face, “Oh, right. Yes. I am ready for bed.”

He had no idea what that meant, but as he unlocked the front door and as he flipped the lights on, everyone yelled “SURPRISE!”

He noticed everyone dressed up in costumes and Genna and Luke at the front, their faces filled with excitement.

He laughed and Cassidy hurried to her parents, and Gunner grinned at everyone.

Miles was there, as was Raiden and his little sister Rickie, and when Raiden walked up to him, Gunner smiled.

“You knew about this?”

Raiden laughed, “Genna is sneaky. I will give you that. We all knew that you needed a break and getting done with work for the weekend so you could spend it with Cassidy wasn’t the worst plan. You would have still been working and missed Halloween had she not come up with it.”

Gunner ran his hand over his hair and Genna walked up to him, “Are you mad?”

Gunner hugged her, “Not in the least. I am thrilled. Except, my girl isn’t here to be with me. So that makes it harder.”

Genna looked up at him with wide eyes, “Your girl? You don’t have a girl.”

Gunner felt his cheeks warm and knew that Raiden was listening intently to their conversation, “I do. Though, I only met her officially tonight.”

Genna shook her head, “You make no sense. Met her officially?”

Gunner laughed, “I have known for weeks that she is my girl. I just haven’t met her yet.”

Genna put her hands to her hips, “Stop talking in riddles. What is her name?”
