He shook his head, “Can’t you take a few days off?”
She chuckled, “I wish. But someone needs to make little girl’s dreams come true.”
He kissed her, “You are too wonderful. Can I come see you tomorrow?”
She nodded, and told him where her shop was located, and when he pulled her into his arms, his smile had dropped away.
“What is that look for?”
He shook his head, “It’s nothing. I swear.”
She nodded and shut her eyes, feeling him breathing and hearing his heartbeat under her head and falling fast asleep.
