Reid helped Xavier to his feet, and then backed away, as Mark pointed the gun at him.
The psychotic man then roughly tied him to a tree on the opposite side of the clearing from Xavier.
It pulled on his shoulder and Reid had to use every single ounce of strength he had to not cry out in pain.
He watched as Mark tied Xavier’s exhausted body to the tree and then Mark used a large knife, slashing a cut on Xavier’s stomach open and then stuck a needle with a syringe attached to it in Xavier’s arm, making him slump against the tree, out cold.
The blood that flowed from his friend made Reid wish he could do anything to help his friend and as he watched Xavier slump to the bark, out cold, he started yelling at Mark, and Mark sneered at him.
“The bears will smell the blood and come to investigate. I have also heard that cougars haunt these woods. They too can be quite blood thirsty.”
He walked to where Reid was tied up and pulled something from his pocket, and Reid couldn’t fight the man as he stuck a syringe in his shoulder much like the one he has used on Xavier.
Then he used his knife to slash a deep, painful cut down his already bad arm.
Reid let out a strangled cry of pain, but whatever was in the syringe made him sluggish and Mark put a gag in his mouth, and then he stepped back, and surveyed his handiwork.
Then the bastard gave them a two fingered wave as he walked out of the clearing.
“I just have to say this is the cleanest death I have ever orchestrated. Good luck.”
Then he melted into the trees and was gone.
Reid felt the sleepiness start to overtake him and though he wanted to fight, and try to get free, he knew it was too late and the drugs pulled him under.
