Most of them had tears in their eyes and her mom walked up to her, “Oh Mila. You look so beautiful. This is it, isn't it?”
Mila nodded, “This is the dress I’m going to marry Reid in.”
Ailith came up beside her, “Ye look beautiful.”
Mila smiled and then she was surrounded by the women that she loved and was grateful for.
Emery handed her the phone, and she could see that Kaylee was crying.
“Kaylee bug? Are you okay?”
Kaylee nodded, “You are beautiful Mila. So pretty. I love your dress.”
Mila smiled, “Thank you sweet girl. I can’t wait to see you in person. Reid says you have magical hugs. I want one. Soon right?”
Kaylee nodded, “I do have magical hugs. Reid says they make everything better.”
Mila smiled, “I need one then for sure. I can’t wait.”
Heather put her arms around her daughter. “We both can’t wait either. I will be booking the tickets tonight.”
Mila grinned, “Reid and I will be at the airport to pick you up. Okay?”
Kaylee and Heather nodded, and Mila said, “Thank you for being here for this Kaylee bug. I really needed your face here.”
Kaylee grinned, “I wanted to be there too.”
The women around her chuckled and Mila blew Kaylee another kiss, “I can’t wait to pick out your dress when you get here.”
Kaylee nodded seriously, “Oh, yes. We will need to go shopping.”
Mila laughed, “We will. Be safe. Go hold some kittens, or puppies for me? Okay?”
Kaylee giggled, “Will do. Love you.”
Mila felt her breath catch, “I love you too Kaylee bug.”
Heather waved and then hung up. Mila hugged each woman there and thanked Karalee for letting her share this day.
Karalee wiped her eyes, “Of course. We are in this together. We are going to be sisters.”
Emery stood next to them and gave a squeal, “Oh yeah!! We will be.”
Mila laughed, “I think we are all connected in some ways. I love our big happy family.”
They admired her dress for a minute and Tessa had Karalee change back into her dress and they took a few pictures together.
This day was something she would never forget her entire life through.
And when it was all over, she went back home, floating on cloud nine.
She texted Reid.
Mila: Hey there handsome. Found my dress today. Can’t wait to walk down the aisle to you in it.
When nothing came through after a few seconds, she checked her watch.
He should have been done with therapy by now and here with her for their dinner date they were going to have.
