He laughed, and washed the rest of the shaving cream free from his face.

He got another towel and dried her off and then dried himself off and finished shaving while she got dressed in her clothes from yesterday.

She pulled her hair up in a messy bun and he hated that he had to drop her off at her home.

She kissed him when he walked her to the door and then with a wave, she walked inside and he drove to the building his company was in.

He got out of his truck and whistled as he walked in, and the guy at the front desk did a double take.

Steele laughed and opened the door to their office.

He was still whistling and Jet, Crew, Scout and the few men and one woman that worked for them stopped talking and Crew’s mouth dropped open.

He laughed again and went to his office, and he had barely sat down when the door opened and they all came in, talking at once.

Jet said, “This is the weirdest moment of my life.”

Crew, “I’m dreaming, right? I’m in a dream? No, he wouldn’t smile in a dream.”

Scout, “What’s with the whistling? I have never heard a sound like that come from your mouth.”

Their office manager, Norma shushed them all, and they all went silent.

She was in her thirties, happily married and the best manager there was.

She smiled at him, “Is there something we need to know Steele?”

He tapped his chin, “Nope.”

The men scoffed, and she leaned forward, “I feel like that’s a lie.”

He laughed and the men looked at each other in shock and Steele said, “I may or may not have met the girl I’m going to marry and may or may not have claimed her last night. And this morning.”

Everyone went still again and then they all started yelling, “What? Are you serious?” Or different versions of that.

He stood, holding up his hand and pointed at Crew, who was the closest to him and his right hand man, who said, “Are you fucking serious Steele? You met your girl? When did this happen?”

Steele smiled, “I met her for the first time the other day. Time seems to have flown. She was at the bank and sent me a letter.”

He pulled it free from his wallet and showed them and Crew’s eyebrows drew down, “I gave you this the other day.”

Steele nodded, “I know. I read her letter so often that I memorized it and have been looking for her. When Raiden came in the other day, he told me who she was. I just never noticed her. Too wrapped up in feeling like a failure to see what was right in front of me. The woman meant to be mine. But trust me, I am making up for it. She is mine in every way and I can’t wait for you all to meet her.”

Scout and Jet watched him and Scout said, “Is she Raiden’s sister?”

Steele nodded and Scout laughed, “I saw her making eyes at you. You were so oblivious to her.”

Steele nodded, “I know. I was such an idiot. Who in their right mind doesn’t see a woman that beautiful or perfect? Seriously. Just a fucker who had too much on his mind. That’s who.”

Crew shook his head, “It isn’t your fault. She seemed kind of shy. And held back a lot. I only saw her because she was so close with Raiden.”

Scout nodded, “Same.”

Jet scowled, “I didn’t see her.”

Steele smiled, “Same. But you will soon. Her name is Rickell, but everyone calls her Rickie. She's amazing. I want to ask her to marry me.”

Crew raised his eyebrows so high they almost disappeared in his hairline. “Seriously?”
