He bit his lip, “Clothes. You know pants, shirts and other things?”

“She shook her head, “I know I need them, but I have none I’m afraid.”

He nodded, “That is a problem, but no worries, I can take you.”

She shrugged, “Take me where?”

“I'll take you shopping.”

“Shopping?”

He gave a soft laugh, “I thought girls liked shopping.”

Soraya looked at him with wide eyes, and he laughed again.

“I can get you a new shirt and some pants and we can go.”

Fin blocked their way, “I don’t like it Cruiz. It’s weird.”

Cruiz snarled, “I don’t care what you like Fin. It’s my life and she's going to be in it. Deal with it now.”

Fin shook his head, “I can’t. There is something about her that I can’t put my finger on. It’s too much of a coincidence.”

Cruiz raised his eyebrow, “What does that mean Fin?”

Fin shook his head, “Nothing. Listen, I’m going to stay with mom and dad for a bit..”

Cruiz shook his head, “Fin,”

But Fin backed away, “No. I’m leaving. I need some time to figure this out.”

Cruiz growled at him, but Fin was already leaving.

Soraya bit her lip and Cruiz turned to look at her. He held his hands up and his face showed his sorrow.

She walked to him and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around her and when he did, she knew without a doubt that he was hers.

He sucked in a breath, and looked down at her.

With his black hair and dark brown eyes, he seemed to search hers.

She looked away, and he dropped his arms.

She took a few steps away from him and they heard a door slam shut, making them both jump.

He pinched the bridge of his nose, “Fin is so stubborn. He always needs to know everything that happens around him and when he doesn’t know it, he finds out. I wish he would trust me. I know there is something about you and even if I can’t put my finger on it, I know that at least.”

She put her head down, and then she looked up, “I wish I could explain. And I swear that I will. I just need some time. I don’t want to ruin this.”

He cupped her face in his hands, “I know you will. I trust you my little gem.”

She shut her eyes, loving the nickname for her. When she opened them again, he was staring down at her.

Then he leaned forward as if he couldn’t stop himself and kissed her lips softly.

She was shocked by the contact, but melted into his arms as their kiss deepened.

He let out a soft groan and then he pulled back before their kiss could get out of hand, and put his forehead to hers.
