He had grinned so big it had overtaken his face and he had kissed her stomach with such reverence that it had brought tears to her eyes.

He had looked up at her and told her how much he loved her and that he was so grateful she had given him the world.

They had made love slowly that morning, just loving each other and the bond they shared and Soraya was currently swimming in the sea with Ulyana at her side.

She wanted to sing her thanks for the new life that was growing inside her and for the happiness she never thought she could have.

As soon as they were deep enough, Soraya gladly let her song break free and sang out her love and happy song.

Fish swam around in a cloud of rainbows, dolphins squeaked and whales sang along with her.

Ulyana held her hand and also lifted her voice and when they were done, mermaids of all ages were there, watching, listening and knowing they were witnessing a song of mating.

One that was powerful and perfect.

And after their song was through, each mermaid hugged them and Soraya felt whole.

Unafraid for once of her magic, because she knew that Cruiz healed her.

She looked over at her sister, and together they swam back to their happily ever after.

Epilogue

Cruiz

Five Years Later

Waking up in the early morning, he lay still next to his mate.

Her pink hair was in his face and he nuzzled into it, breathing in her familiar scent.

Two pairs of feet ran their way and Cruiz sat up, looking over at the door as it slowly opened and a head with light pink hair looked in and a head with dark brown hair peeked in.

They both grinned when they saw he was awake and he used a finger to keep them quiet.

He quickly pulled on a pair of pajama pants and walked from the room, shutting the door and letting his pregnant wife sleep.

She was due any day now and had been exhausted.

Their two kids were looking up at him, and he knelt down to give them hugs.

Ara and Beck hugged him and he loved seeing how much his children looked like their mother and him.

Beck favored him strongly, with his dark hair and skin color, but he had his mother’s eyes. They were as stunningly blue as Soraya’s and he loved seeing them every day in his son.

Ara had her mother’s pink hair, but it was much lighter, almost white in some places and she had his dark brown eyes.

Both of them could turn their legs into a tail at will now that they were older, and Soraya had been shocked the first time it happened.

She didn’t know that their children could be both a mermaid and a Protector at the same time.

And she loved it. She was having another girl, and Cruiz couldn’t wait to hold her in his arms.

They were to name her Zaraya and he loved that each of their names held a significance to them and their heritage.

He helped the kids onto their seats and made them each breakfast, when Soraya walked in the room, her belly leading the way.

Cruiz walked up to her, running his hand over her stomach and kissed her.
