When she walked into the office of Kieran Kavanagh, she wasn’t expecting to see a god of a man at the desk across from her.

And when they locked eyes and she stared into his light green eyes, it was as if something clicked inside her.

He was hers. Her fate. And damn if it didn’t make her long to be in his strong arms.

But the door opened before either could speak, and a girl walked in and leaned over the desk, “Dante needs you to sign this. It’s the new order from our distributor.”

The man looked down at the paper, and read it quickly, and then signed it, handing it back to the girl. “Thank ye, Amelia. Bring that back to Dante.”

The woman nodded and stood straight, and then walked out of the room.

He sat back in his chair, his almost black hair combed back from his face and his beard short and cropped close to his strong jaw.

She wanted to run her fingers over that jaw. Envious of his facial hair.

“What can I do for ye today? Miss?”

She almost shivered at the sound of his deep voice as it ran over her, “Oh. Uh. Keelyn. Keelyn Kelly. But my sister calls me Keke.”

His lips gave a tiny twitch on the corner, “Keelyn. I like it.”

She bit her lip, and then said, “I came to apply for the waitress job.”

He steepled his fingers together and put them against his full lips.

He crooked one eyebrow, “Ye donna look old enough. Ye look like a wee babe.”

She sat back, “I’m twenty-one. Plenty old enough or I wouldn’t have applied here.”

He said nothing, “Are ye now?”

She knew he was fishing and she hoped that she didn’t give herself away. They needed the money.

They were tired of living in that nasty motel.

She lifted her chin and he gave a slight nod of his head, “Ye will be working with Amelia. She is the head waitress here and works solely in the VIP section. She will train ye and show ye what to wear. Ye will only wear what ye are told. Ye will not flirt with the customers or any of the men that work in the club. If ye do, ye won’t like the consequences.”

She felt her eyebrows drop, “If I don’t flirt with the men, how am I supposed to make good tips?”

He sat forward, “Ye will NOT flirt with any man here, or ye will be fired and the man will be banned for life.”

She just nodded, confused. “Okay. Geez. Don’t get your panties in a twist.”

He raised his eyebrow, “The only panties that we will discuss are yers. Do ye agree ta the rules I have laid down? Or do ye need more?”

She shook her head, “Is there a no fraternization rule?”

He let out a growl, “Ye will not be fraternizing with anyone.”

She scoffed, “That’s not a rule.”

He nodded, “It is. Ye will obey them or ye will not have a job here.”

She rolled her eyes and he leaned forward in his chair, “Are ya going to fight me on this?”

She shook her head and he sat back, “Good. I won’t have anyone looking at what’s mine.”

She felt her eyebrows lift, “Okay? That’s weird of you to say.”
