She nodded and he smiled, “Then we understand each other. Yes, I get that you won’t always feel like you are worth it. Or that you are enough and I will learn why over time, but just know, in my eyes, you are worth it. You are enough and you are the woman I love. If you don’t hear it from anyone, hear it from me. I will always let you know.”
She snuggled up against his chest and he held her tight for a few seconds, “I have to get to work.”
He sighed and let her go, “I have to too. I have a few work meetings.”
He kissed her and then went into the bathroom and when he came out his hair was brushed out of his face and he smelled delicious.
He held her hand when he walked to his truck and helped her inside.
He buckled her in again and then drove her to the restaurant where her car was left untouched.
He kissed her and watched as she drove away.
She pulled out her phone and called Brooke, who had called her a few times.
She had completely forgotten to check her phone, and when Brooke answered, she was almost frantic.
“Are you okay Eva? You disappeared. I have been freaking out.”
Eva smiled, “I am fine. I went out with a guy. Soren.”
“You went out with a guy? A guy? You?”
Eva laughed, “You are repeating yourself. Yes a guy. He is amazing Brooke.”
Brooke let out a soft sigh and Eva drove to their house, “Is he? This is the first guy that has ever caught your eye. Don’t you think you should take it slow?”
Eva laughed, “I wanted to. He is so perfect though that that ship has sailed. I love him.”
Brooke’s surprised gasp came through, “You love him? Do I need to quote Frozen right now?”
Eva laughed again, “I’m not marrying him. Just that I love him. He loves me too.”
Brooke sighed again, “He probably says that all the time.”
Eva shook her head, “He isn’t that kind of guy. He wouldn’t act like that. If he wanted a girl, he could have any in the world. But he wants me. And I believe him. He has given me no reason to not trust him.”
She pulled up to their house and walked in and Brooke turned her phone off, “If you say he is who he says he is, then I will support you. You aren’t a girl that will just take someone’s word. So I will be here no matter what.”
Eva hugged Brooke and then told her everything that happened with the game and with Soren.
By the time she was done, she had to get ready to get to the stadium.
She felt like she was floating on air.
