Shelley smiled, “I figured you guys would be happy with some chocolate. Come on Eva, let’s let these guys work.”

Eva nodded and walked away with one last kiss from Soren.

Shelley led her to the living room and sat down on the couch, pulling her down with.

“So, you and my brother. I’m really happy for you guys. Soren is the best brother ever. And I couldn’t be happier that he finally found his girl. He never dated before, so it’s cool that he found you.”

Eva smiled, “I haven’t dated either. I’m new to all of this.”

Shelley smiled, “I was too. When Blake saw me for the first time, that was it. I was his, no questions asked. He kind of bulldozed his way into my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

She got a dreamy look on her face and Eva laughed, “Soren is the same. We only met two days ago. And yet, here we are. Acting like we have been together forever. It’s so strange to me.”

Shelley laughed, “Yeah. I heard about that. But I wouldn’t have put it past my brother to act that way. He has a one track mind and when he sets out to get something, he does everything he can to get it. He was like that in school and law school. The man is like a machine.”

Eva bit her lip, “He hasn’t deviated. That’s for sure. I wasn’t sure what to think at first, but I’m really glad he didn’t give up.”

Shelley reached out and hugged her, “I am too. It’s going to be fun having a sister.”

“Oh. Uh, a sister? We just barely started dating.”

Shelley waved her away, “If he's anything like Blake, and I have a feeling he is, then he won’t stop until you have a ring on your finger and your last name as his.”

Eva thought about that. She wanted to have his last name. Hers meant nothing and she wanted to belong to him.

“I would really like that.”

Shelley smiled, “Yep. I am the same. I want to be Blake’s in every way.”

Eva nodded and sat back, “I never thought I would have a conversation like this.”

Shelley snorted, “Girl. Same. I didn’t have many friends. I tried so hard to be the popular girl, but it wasn’t to be. But Soren helped me to realize I wasn’t that girl, that I needed to just be myself and he wasn’t wrong. And now, I’m with Blake and my life is so perfect and amazing. I can’t even tell you. I don’t mind not having a lot of friends. But I can’t wait to count you as one.”

Eva smiled, “I would like that. A lot. I didn’t really have many friends either. I didn’t have the best home life and spent most of it with nannies and the like. I never knew what it felt like to be part of someone's real family. But I’m beginning to find out with Soren. And you.”

Shelley put her arm around her, “Yep. Get ready for the crazy.”

The doorbell chimed and Soren poked his head in the room, “Will you get the door babe?”

Eva nodded and stood, going to the door and opening it to find two people outside on the stoop.

They were kissing and the man had his hand buried in the woman’s brown hair.

She was moaning softly and Eva cleared her throat and they broke apart with a jump.

“Oh, sorry,” she rushed to say and the girl waved her away. “It’s fine. I just can’t get enough of him.”

Eva blinked and the girl smiled, “You’re the new cheerleader aren’t you?”

Eva nodded and the girl held out her hand, “Sasha Joiner. Nice to meet you. This is Brandon Meyers. He is the quarterback and I’m the tight end.”

Brandon grabbed Sasha’s butt and he laughed, “Yes it is tight.”

Eva bit back a surprised laugh and Sasha swatted at Brandon. “You are a beast. Lord.”

Brandon shrugged unapologetically.

Eva shook Sasha’s hand, “I’m Eva Hall. Nice to meet you both.”
