“I know it wasn’t what you would choose, but I appreciate it.”
Jet nodded, “I know. But in reality, this is your house and even though I want to be with Farren more than my next breath, I will sleep out here.”
Harrison found him a few blankets and a pillow. Then he lit a fire in the fireplace.
“Good night.”
Jet lifted his chin, “Good night. Hey,” Harrison turned around and Jet said, “This morning, I saw some footprints in the snow around the house. They stopped at Farren’s bedroom, and it seemed as if the person was there for a while. I don’t know. And it looked like someone was scratching the doorknob with a key or something. I wanted to let you know.”
Harrison’s eyes were wide, “I don’t like that. If you hear something tonight, let me know. Okay?”
Jet nodded, and Harrison went to a room down the hall and shut the door. Jet sat down on the couch and shut his eyes. He wanted to hold Farren in his arms while they slept and knew it wouldn’t be easy to sleep out here while she was in her room, but it would be worth it. He pulled off his boots and pants and his shirt and then lay back on the couch. It was comfortable at least and he covered himself with the blankets and plumped up the pillow behind his head.
He looked out the window at the falling snow and then over at the fire. It cracked and popped in the fireplace, and it warmed the room quickly. He shut his eyes, and sighed. He was in love with Farren, and he couldn’t wait for the rest of their lives together. He heard soft footsteps behind him and he sat up, looking towards the hallway.
Farren was standing behind him with a smile on her face and he let out a soft breath.
“What are you doing here?”
She smiled wider, “He didn’t want you to sleep in my room but didn’t say anything about me sleeping out here with you.”
Jet’s eyes widened, “You are a brat.”
She laughed softly, “I miss you. Can I please sleep with you?”
He nodded and got off the couch and put the blankets on the floor in front of the fireplace. He lay back down and she lay down beside him, her head pillowed on his chest. He wrapped his arm around her and kissed the top of her head. She sighed in happiness, and he shut his eyes for a second then opened them again.
“I love you Farren.”
She looked up at him, “I love you too Jet.”
He kissed her soft lips and she smiled against his mouth. Then she lay back down and shut her eyes. He ran his hand up and down her back and her breathing evened out and he knew she was asleep. He shut his eyes and listened to the sound of her breathing.
She was his everything. His universe. Just like he told Harrison she was. He didn’t know how he had lived this long without her. But now that she was in his arms, he was never going to let her go.
Chapter Eight
~ Farren ~
When she woke the next morning, the fire was out and the snow had stopped falling. It was white outside, and she unwrapped herself from Jet’s arm and stood, looking out at the pure white snow. She held onto the curtains as she put her head against the window casing. She loved it when it snowed and how beautiful it was outside and how you couldn’t see all the imperfections under the blanket of white. She heard Jet stir and make a noise of surprise and she turned as he sat up, looking around, his face frantic.
When his eyes landed on her, he let out a breath of relief.
“I thought you left sometime in the night, and I didn’t wake to feel you leave.”
She walked over to him and dropped next to him. He pulled her into his arms.
“I’m still here. I just wanted to look outside.”
He kissed her, and she tried to cover her mouth and he held her hands over her head and shook his head, “I need my morning kiss baby.”
She let him hold her hands down as he kissed her. She let out a soft moan and then someone cleared their throat and she looked up and Harrison was standing in the doorway of the living room.
“You slept out here didn’t you?”
She smiled, “Of course.”
He chuckled and then walked to the kitchen, starting the coffee maker. Jet lifted his upper body off her and she sat up. He stood and she saw the outline of his hard cock. He pulled his pants on and she hated that he was getting dressed.
