“I hope he doesn’t have her, but if anyone would take her and leave someone behind to fend for themselves it’s him.”
Jet felt his blood run cold as Harrison told them about Ted and how obsessed he was with Farren. However, since they were younger, Ted would follow Farren around and she never knew he was there. She was oblivious to the danger and Harrison had Stetson follow Farren home just so nothing happened. Ted finally got the picture after Stetson and Harrison, both threatened him, and Ted left after high school.
“If he left after you finished school, how did he know all those things about Farren?”
Harrison shrugged, “Come on. We need to talk to the cops.”
There were a few on the scene taping it off and one of the men looked over, “Can we help you? Do you know something?”
Harrison nodded, “We have a lead. But I don’t know where to find him.”
He told the cop the story and the cop tapped his chin, “We could look through records at the station? It’s a long shot, but it can’t hurt?”
Jet shook his head, “That would take too long. Come to our office, if the guy has his phone, I can hack into it.”
Harrison’s eyes widened as did the cop and he looked around, “I didn’t hear that officially. I would need a warrant, but you are civilians and can do what you need to. Just keep me updated. I will help in any way I can.”
They all nodded, and Jet ran back to the truck with Scout.
Scout jumped in, “I found her. I didn’t know I would ever find her.”
Jet nodded, “I am happy for you Scout. But right now, I can’t focus on it. I need to get my girl back. She is injured and in the arms of a mad man.”
“I understand. Let’s go get her back so I can get to my girl. She needs me too.”
He drove them quickly to the office and Jet walked in, waking his computers up and sitting at his desk.
“Give me his number.”
Harrison handed him his phone and Jet put the number into his computer.
“Scout, if you need to go, I understand.”
Scout shook his head, “I’m not going anywhere. But I did tell Steele and Crew. They are on their way.”
Jet nodded and started typing. He hadn’t broken into a phone before, but it was easier than he thought and within a few minutes, he was in.
“His phone is on, but he turned the location off. I can do my best to turn it on from here, but it will take a few minutes.”
They all sat quietly while Jet worked and when he yelled in victory, Harrison jumped.
“Got it. Come on.”
He sent the location to his phone and Scout had grabbed a few guns and a knife. They put on their bullet proof vests and Jet grabbed the holster for his knife and his gun. Jet tucked his knife into the holster at his side and the gun in his shoulder holster. Scout had helped him take off his sling before they put on their vests. He didn’t need it right now. Right now, he needed both of his arms.
As they made it to the truck, Crew and Steele pulled up and Jet gave them the run down. They would get Farren back and Jet would never let her out of his sight again. They let the cop know what was going down and he told them he would be there as back up. Jet didn’t care who was with them, he just wanted his girl.
Chapter Ten
~ Farren ~
When she woke, she was in a dark room. And her arms were above her head, and when she shook one, it rattled. She looked up, her eyes hazy and her mind foggy and saw that she was held in place by handcuffs. She choked in fear and kicked her legs and noted that only one of her legs was tied down.
The other was swollen and it hurt so badly Farren wanted to cry, and she knew she must have broken it. Her broken ribbed pulled at her because of her hands and she bit her lip to keep from crying out. She heard someone moving outside of the room she was in and she went still. The door opened and light flooded into the room, making her blink.
And then the overhead light came on and she had to shut her eyes and then open them slowly to adjust. Her mind was still foggy, and she tried to shake it away, but it didn’t help. She looked around the room and saw that there was only the bed and a chair in the room. No pictures hung on the wall, and there was nothing to indicate anyone lived in the home. She looked at Ted and flinched when he came closer to the bed and reached out his hand to touch her face.
He pulled his hand back and then put it on her face, “You hit your head really hard. It bruised your face.”
