Scout nodded, “We have to get her out. Now that you know she is here, you need to arrest the man.”

The cop, whose name tag read, Elson on it nodded.

He snuck around the edge of the house and Steele looked in the window. “I will help him. I doubt the man will go down easily.”

Jet nodded and walked to the bed. Farren was in horrible shape. She was breathing shallowly, and he knew she was in so much pain.

He gently unlocked the handcuffs from her wrists and was starting to work on her ankle, when the door opened. The man from the other room stood there and blinked at them in shock and then let out a yell. He rushed Jet and Jet stumbled back as the man shoved him away and Jet hit the wall hard. He let out a groan but swung his fist out and slammed the man in the face. Ted stumbled back a few inches and then Jet was upright and held his fists up.

“Come on you bastard!”

Ted let out another yell and tried to tackle Jet, but Jet used his motion and threw the man over his shoulder and then knelt on the ground beside him.

“I would stay down if I were you. Otherwise, I can’t say that you can make it out of this alive.”

Ted snarled up at him and tried to sit up, but Jet slammed his fist in Ted’s face over and over, until he was pulled away by the cop and Scout. The man slumped to the floor, his face a bloody mess and out cold. Scout had unlocked Farren’s other leg and Jet stood, picking up Farren in his arms gently.

She let out a moan and Jet hated that she was injured so badly and in so much pain.

He rushed her outside and the cop, Elson, was on the radio, “We have an ambulance in bound. It will be here in three minutes.”

Jet nodded and looked over his shoulder at the house, “Ted is unconscious, and Scout has zip tied his wrists.”

Elson nodded and rushed in the house and Harrison was hurrying over to Jet.

“Fuck. Oh Farren. Shit. She looks horrible.”

Jet didn’t say a word, just held Farren tight. His shoulder burned and hurt like a bitch, but he didn’t care about that either. All he cared about was getting Farren the help she needed. Scout and Elson walked out of the house with a conscious Ted in tow. He was fighting against the bonds that held him and the two men that held his arms in a death grip.

When he saw Jet holding Farren close, he started to curse and fight harder, “She is MINE! I saw her first! I took her and she is mine! Only mine! Get your fucking filthy hands off her! You took her from me!”

Jet turned away from the man and heard a grunt behind him and knew Scout had done something to shut the man up. He was good and done with men like that.

When the ambulance pulled up, the police car was pulling away with Elson at the wheel and Ted in the back yelling curses and screaming to be let go. The other cop stayed to put up police tape and to secure the scene.

When the EMTs spotted Farren in Jet’s arms, one of them let out a soft breath, “Shit. Come on, put her on the gurney. She needs to get to the hospital. We don’t know what kind of injuries she has and if that guy fucked them up worse.”

Jet put her down and was shoved out of the way by the team as they loaded her into the ambulance and shut the doors. He didn’t want to leave her and yet at the same time, knew it was for the best.

He looked over at Scout, who nodded.

“Let’s go. I want to see my girl and you need to know information about yours.”

Jet stayed silent but got in the truck and Steele climbed in beside him.

“Are you doing okay?”

Jet shook his head briskly, “No. I’m not. She was hurt and taken. She could have been abused in ways we don’t know yet and I hate it. I want to kill that man. And I probably would have if it was just me that found them. He would have died slowly.”

Steele nodded, “I know. Men like that think that the world owes them something. That women owe them for being kind. I don’t know why their mind becomes so twisted and I don’t want to find out. I just want to get back to my own girl and know that she is safe. Just as soon as we know more about yours.”

Jet nodded, “Thank you Steele.”

Stelle shook his head, “Don’t thank me. You would have done the same for me. I’m just grateful nothing happened to Rickie, or I would be in your shoes right now and wishing I could kill someone. Although, I do have to say you handled it better than I could have.”

“No. I didn’t.”

Steele nodded fiercely, “Yes you did. If it was me that found her like that and he had come in? Well, let’s just say he would have left in a body bag no matter what my instructions were to the contrary. You showed restraint and I commend you for it.”
