She had to know how beautiful she was and she probably had men looking at her left and right.
That made him want to growl and when she wanted to leave it made him want to growl.
He finally just took it into his own hands and to stop her from leaving, he unbuckled her and then lifted her from the car.
She weighed less than nothing and he didn’t have any trouble, but when he went to set her down, she shook her head, “I need my crutches please.”
He saw that there were indeed hand-crutches in the car.
He set her on the couch and then the rest was quick.
He gave her the purse and her crutches and then pulled her car into an empty bay.
He had to figure out how to make it drive as it was custom made for her to drive, but he liked how simple it was and he knew that it was good for her to drive.
He just had to figure out what was wrong with her engine.
He got out of the car and she had her eyebrows raised, “You figured out how to drive my car really fast.”
He nodded, and then popped the hood.
And then he looked at the engine and saw the issue.
He set to work on taking apart her engine and getting lost in the work.
He heard a noise behind him and saw her getting up and putting the crutches around her small wrists.
He turned to her, “What are you doing?”
She slowly walked over to him, and he looked down at her. She barely came up to his chest.
“I wanted to see what you are doing. In case it happens again. I want to see if I can fix it.”
He lifted one eyebrow, “You want to know how to fix it?”
She nodded, “I doubt I could, but I at least want to be able to tell the next person if this happens again.”
“I will fix it so it won’t happen again.”
She smiled, “Well, I hope that’s true, but I just have to be sure.”
Ryland turned away from her brilliant smile, and said, “I’m a good mechanic. I won’t be doing anything to hurt your car.”
She bit her lip, nibbling on it for a second and then looked up at him, “Okay. Um. How long is this going to take? I was sort of on my way to get something to eat.”
He heard her stomach growl softly and he lifted his eyebrows, not liking that she was hungry.
“I’m not sure.”
She nodded, “Okay.”
She turned and went back to the small couch and he hated that she looked small and alone.
Never in his life would he care about the needs of a woman, but this one was something else all together.
He turned back to the car and fiddled for a minute with it and then sighed, lowering his head.
“Come on. I made something earlier and didn’t get a chance to eat it yet.”
