He felt human for the first time in too many years and it was all because of her.

A smile overtook her face once again and she nodded, “I would love that.”

He handed her the kitten and she put it back, “I’m actually pretty hungry. So this is kind of perfect.”

He blinked down at her, and then grabbed her hand and pulled her from the room and out to the main reception area.

Jaycee was sitting at the front desk and her eyes went wide and Honor waved to her, “See you soon!”

Jaycee just waved and he walked with Honor to her car, “Follow behind me.”

She nodded and he waited until she was in her car and then walked to his and she followed behind him as he drove to his house.

He was glad he had gotten supplies delivered to his house.

He hadn’t really thought this through, but he didn’t care.

The girl of his dreams was coming to his house.

He pulled into his driveway and her car was right next to his and he rushed over to the door and opened it for her, making that smile appear.

He helped her from the car and she looked up at his house and then back at him, “Your house is stunning.”

His lips quirked, “Thank you.”

She slipped her hand in his and he led her into the front door and her eyebrows went high on her head, “Wow. It’s beautiful. But, um. You don’t have much furniture. Did you just move?”

He looked around and shook his head, “I usually only sleep here and that’s it.”

She bit her lip, “Oh. Um. Okay?”

He led her to the kitchen, glad he at least had a dining room table.

He had her sit down and then went into the kitchen and started pulling out stuff to make dinner.

He started when he felt a touch to his back, “I can help if you want?”

He just nodded and side by side, they cooked dinner and then sat next to one another at his table.

He was glad he had gotten a square table.

She talked about her sister, Truth and how Truth was in New York for a few days, while she was away at a few fashion shows and how she was holding down the fort at the store.

And he listened with rapt fascination as she talked.

He wanted to learn everything about her.

She asked questions about him and he told her that he worked for Sean, but didn’t give her details.

She didn’t need to know that. And she let it go.

Then she said, “So, when you were at my house you said you were single. Why?”

He coughed and then said, “I just don’t like people. Women haven’t ever been a thing and I haven’t even looked twice at one, let alone touched one. Just thinking about touching another woman makes me physically sick. I don’t want to even try.”

Her eyes had gone wide and she just nodded and let it go as well.

He kept asking about her and needing to know her life.
