Honor was never going to see him again.
And he had to get used to that idea, even though his heart felt like it was being ripped from his chest.
He stopped swinging for a second, just leaning his head against the slightly swaying bag and then pulling back and swinging at the bag with full force.
He had to get her out of his head.
He just had to. He took a deep breath and went to swing again when he heard someone ring the doorbell.
He sighed, knowing it was most likely Sean or Cillian.
He walked upstairs after turning the music off, dripping sweat down his face and body and he opened the door.
Honor stood before him. She was wearing a short dress that showed off all of her tan skin.
It sat low on her shoulders, showing off the creamy skin to perfection and her long legs were also bare.
Her dress was short, cream colored and had what looked like lace on the outer covering.
Her chest was shown off too and it looked like there was a scar between her perfect breasts.
Her long hair was down around her shoulders and her lips lifted slightly at the corners and he blinked at her.
She lifted her hand a little, “Um. Hi.”
He looked at her tiny hand and then back up at her face, and she smiled a little wider, “Did I interrupt?”
He shook his head, “I was working out.”
She looked down his body and he felt his cock twitch when he saw heat in her eyes.
But that wasn’t right. “What are you doing here?”
She looked up at him, “I heard you. When you were on the phone and with Truth. I thought you didn’t want me. That you didn’t care. And that I was just a plaything to you. I was trying to reconcile the man in my head with the one who was saying that stuff on the phone and it didn’t make sense. But you are you and I didn’t really know you. So I chose the easy way and left. I knew it would be better than trying to hear why you said those things about me.”
He looked down at the ground, “I knew you must have heard me. And I hate that you did. I can only say I’m sorry. I was only trying to keep you safe. There are men in my life and in my line of work that aren’t good. That are pure evil. And this was one. I had to say what I did about you to keep you safe. That’s the only reason why. You could never be a plaything. You are my world. You always have been and will be even if you aren’t in my life. You saved me. Even if I break because you leave me, I knew what it was like to love again. To be alive again.”
Her face crumpled, “Gage,” she started to say and he held up his hand, and gently cupped her face with it, “Thank you for giving me life. For the sunshine that lit up my world.”
Then he dropped his hand and she reached out and gently touched the side of his face, “You are welcome. And I’m not going anywhere. I am only sorry I didn’t hear it and gave into the doubts in my head. You haven’t ever given me a reason to doubt.”
He leaned into her touch and pulled her into the house, “You are mine. I’m not ever letting you go.”
She smiled, “I don’t ever want you to let me go.”
He picked her up in his arms and kissed her, pressing her up against the nearest wall, needing to taste her.
She moaned and he just kissed her. Deepening it by licking her bottom lip, and flicking his tongue in her mouth when her luscious lips parted for him.
Her tongue played with his and he loved her taste and wanted more of it.
Her perfume was in his nose, and she was the best thing he had ever smelled.
He pulled away from her lips and kissed down her chin to her neck, slowly moving his lips down the creamy expanse of skin.
She let out small whimpers in her throat as he sucked softly on her pulse point.
He moved down a little further and nuzzled into her cleavage and she went still when he really noticed her scar.
