He laughed and grabbed both her hands in one of his and lifted them above her head and pinned her to the bathroom door.
He took her lips in a hard kiss, and knowing he was in charge of her body was a turn-on she wasn’t expecting.
He used the other hand to tug her towel free and it slid to the floor, leaving her bare before him.
He lifted one of her breasts up and flicked the nipple with his fingers, pinching it softly and rolling it in his fingertips, “You are so fucking perfect that no other woman could ever compare. I don’t know what I did to deserve you.”
She bit her lip to keep from moaning and he moved to her other breast and lifted it to his lips, sucking on her nipple softly and then stepping back from her and she could see his cock was hard again.
She was breathing hard and her hands slowly fell from where he had put them.
She looked up at him, “You were the man I never knew I needed. That’s what you did. I will be forever grateful you were there that night. That you came into my life when you did.”
He dropped to his knees before her and wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her stomach softly.
She ran her fingers through his hair and he looked up at her, “You are never getting away from me now.”
She smiled down at him, “I never want to.”
He shut his eyes and then stood and pulled her from the bathroom, “Come on. Truth will wonder where you are.”
Honor bit her lip and watched Gage’s powerful back move as he walked toward his dresser and opened a drawer, pulling out a pair of black boxer briefs.
The towel dropped from his hips and his ass came into view and damn if his ass wasn’t perfect from this view.
She walked up behind him and put her arms around his naked skin.
She kissed his back and he looked down at her from over his shoulder, “You are a damn minx.”
She smiled, and then winked, “I just can’t help it.”
He growled and she rushed over to get dressed and she knew he watched.
Her hair was wet and she used her fingers to comb it into a semblance of order and watched as Gage came out of the closet, but he wasn’t dressed in a suit.
He had on dark jeans and a white button up shirt that did things to his body.
She felt her core clench when he rolled up his sleeves and she had to swallow hard at the display of skin.
He chuckled and then sobered, “I want you to meet my parents.”
Her eyebrows went up, “Your parents?”
He nodded, “I haven’t seen them since I turned eighteen and joined Sean. They weren’t exactly thrilled with my choice. My dad left this life when he met my mom. He didn’t want to have her involved in it and while I understand his choice a little more now, I don’t regret being who I am. Sean has changed the operations and how things are run and I was there to see it all happen. I know that being who I am and what my name entails isn’t always going to be easy and I will always have to be wary of men trying to take what’s mine, -you,- but I will always keep you safe. I swear it Honor.”
She smiled, “I know you will.”
He let out a small breath of relief and she sat down on the edge of his bed, “Why haven’t you seen your parents?”
He shook his head, “I couldn’t. They reminded me of her and I felt like I was suffocating there. The grief from her dying was palpable in the air. It was so thick, you could almost cut through it. And I was already drowning as it was. I couldn’t be constantly reminded of her everywhere I looked. I hurt too badly and I just couldn’t cope.“
He took a deep breath, “Sean offered me an out and my dad was so hurt by my choice that I also needed to get away from his disappointment. I know I hurt them both. And I couldn’t deal with that. So I left. And I know my parents struggled with it. They felt like they lost both their kids. My sister was the first born girl in our family in a few generations. She was so spoiled and loved and everyone doted on her. I didn’t mind it, because I also doted on her. She was my sister and when she died, the entire family mourned. They all came to her funeral and were so angry that she died because of a drunk driver that my uncle went after the man. It wasn’t pretty and I heard my dad tell my mom that that was a big reason why he left the family. He didn’t want to be associated with that kind of man. But I didn’t understand. I also wanted to go after the man who killed her. It took everything in me to not hunt him down.”
He sucked in a breath and let it out slowly, “I’m sorry. It’s a lot. I just want you to know. To be aware that my family isn’t always happiness and love. It’s full of darkness and horrible deeds. Full of death and destruction. You should know it all. Know I’m not a good guy. That I bring the pain to those who deserve it. That I’m the one they call when bad men need to die.”
She blinked at him and he nodded, “I wish sometimes it was different and I’m sorry it’s not.”
She shook her head and said, “You are who you are Gage. I love you for you. You haven’t had the cookie cutter life. You have had to make choices from the circumstances thrust on you. And I would never fault you for it. There has to be balance and I have a feeling that Sean is keeping that balance in check, but only just. I don’t love violence, but I don’t condone you for it either. There has to be bad and good. You can’t have one without the other and I know you aren’t killing to kill. You aren’t hunting people down just because. That’s not you. It’s never been you. And I love you Gage. For you.”
