She didn’t know why she wasn’t freaking out or calling the cops.
This man had obviously been in a fight and had possibly killed the other man out in the alley.
That thought made her pause for a second and she took a deep breath.
He said he wouldn’t hurt her and he hadn’t. She had to trust him.
She thought about him in her room and she lifted her chin and brought all the supplies to her room.
He was where she left him, but had taken off his shirt and she stopped in her tracks.
He had tan skin, littered with tattoos and scars and he had muscles all over.
Huge arms that looked like rolling hills, massive shoulders and pecs that were solid and firm.
And his abs? Yeah. He had six of those babies all lined up in two perfect rows.
He had a line of dark hair leading down from his navel and it disappeared in his pants and she swallowed hard.
This man was just that. All man.
She blinked a few times and then shook herself free of her thoughts when he looked up and quirked an eyebrow at her.
She hurried over to him and he looked down at the blood that was slowly sliding down his skin.
She used some towels and wiped his skin clean and pressed it against the wound on his side.
He sucked in a small breath and then he held the towel to his side while she wiped the needle clean.
“Have you ever sewn skin before?”
She shook her head and felt a little sick at the thought of it.
He lifted an eyebrow and she noted that he was sweating.
She knew she needed to pull her big girl panties on. This kind of stuff wasn’t new.
She had been in the hospital for months and being poked and prodded didn’t faze her now.
She had to do this.
“It’s probably going to hurt. I’m so sorry.”
He shook his head, “Not going to bother me much. Like I said, I can probably sew it. It wouldn’t be pretty though.”
She knew it was wrong to laugh, but she did anyway.
“It won’t be pretty now.”
His eyes widened slightly and she walked over to him and then pulled her chair over to the bed.
She sprayed his arm gently with an antiseptic spray and he stayed still, even though she knew it had to sting.
“I really am sorry if I hurt you.”
He stayed silent and she threaded the needle and then shut her eyes for a second, thinking to herself,“It’s just fabric. Nude fabric. It’s fine.”
She opened her eyes and started sewing.
