Avery sat back, and Bo saw that she was relieved, “He should come out here and take my order himself then. Crazy bastard.”
The woman laughed, “That he is. I will be right back with that menu. Congratulations again. We are happy for you.”
She walked away, and Avery looked over at him, “Fiancee? What?”
He grinned, “It’s easier than trying to explain everything.”
She just blinked, “It’s our first date. Thing. Whatever this is.”
He pulled her hand closer, making her lean toward him, “You know this is a date baby. And it’s the first of many.”
She sat back, a smirk on her face this time, “Are you sure about that?”
He growled, “Positive, baby. You are mine. And I won’t accept anything less.”
She bit her lip, and he leaned forward, “Don’t make me take you over my knee. You have pretty much begged for it since you questioned what you are to me.”
Her jaw dropped open again, and she wiggled in her seat, “You wouldn’t dare.”
He nodded, “I absolutely would.”
The woman came back, holding a leather-covered menu and handing it to Avery.
Bo sat back and still held his woman’s hand, once again grateful something was covering him fully.
She had been excited by the prospect of him spanking her.
It turned him on more to know she was turned on.
Avery took the menu with her free hand and opened it, and the woman, Angela, walked away, “I will give you a minute.”
Avery smiled up at her, then looked back down, “This place is crazy expensive!”
Bo shrugged, “It’s a little over-priced, but so worth every bite. This place actually puts food on the plate. Not just tiny bites of ridiculous fluff you have to pay a hundred dollars for.”
Avery laughed, “You have been to a place like that?”
He nodded, “It was horrible. My parents took us once when my dad used to fly to Europe. The fluff was whipped egg whites and caviar. It was horrible. To ten year old me, it was the worst thing they could have ever given me.”
She laughed, “Well that makes sense. Who wants fluff at that age?”
He smiled, “Exactly. My mom just wanted us to refine ‘our pallet’ as she called it. I just thought they were crazy. But she ate it up. She was pregnant with Aria and had the weirdest cravings imaginable.”
Avery laughed, “Oh yeah?”
He nodded, “We just watched her eat the craziest things and my dad would run out in the middle of the night to get stuff for her. She loved ice cream and pickles, peanut butter, and eggs. It was insane. I tried one of the weird things and told myself never again.”
Avery laughed a little harder, “I love that.”
Bo's smile widened, “Oh yes. Jet tried as much as I did, and we all did our best to get her the stuff she craved, but some of the stuff we didn’t want to try.”
Avery smiled, “I like that you tried at least.”
Bo nodded, “Oh that we did. Our dad was always grateful we tried when he was gone.”
“How much was he away when you were growing up?”
Bo shrugged, “A lot. He was off to the war for a bit, but came home safely and then he started to fly for a new company. It took a while to get to where he is now. That he is able to not be away as much. Our mom was the best mom though. She was there. Front and center for all of us through everything. And our dad was just as proud. He never let us believe anything different. One time, I got in a fight. I was trying to get the bullies to stop picking on Aria and my mom was proud of me for sticking up for her. And when my dad got home, you know what he did?”
