“Aria said something about that last night, but I thought she was pulling my leg. Are you being serious with me right now?”
He nodded, “Absolutely. When have I ever teased about something like that?”
She shook her head, “Never. But still, this is so not like you,” then she sighed, “It is just like your father and brother though. How long have you known this girl?”
He grinned, “I met her officially yesterday. She cut my hair.”
Her jaw dropped open, then she laughed, “Just like them. You do know it’s acceptable to just date right? And not wife the first girl you do date?”
He shrugged, “I have never been interested in dating. It sounds horrible. I’m content with knowing that I met the girl that is meant to be mine last night. I knew it right then and there. No hesitations.”
She studied him, then she reached out and hugged him, “You know that I love you and will support you no matter what.”
He hugged her back, “I do know that. Which is why I had to tell you.”
She leaned back and kissed his cheek, “I will make you breakfast.”
He fist pumped, “Yes! I knew I was smart to come here.”
She playfully swatted him with the spatula she had retrieved and he danced out of the way, laughing.
“You better tell your father and Jet.”
Bo pulled his phone out, calling his brother first and Jet answered right away, “Jet Cannon.”
Bo snorted, “So official. Wow. I’m going to answer my phone like that.”
Jet laughed, “You are a dick.”
Bo just ginned, “I wanted to let you know I met the girl I’m gonna marry. So get that tux of yours out soon. You are going to be my best man.”
Jet coughed, “Are you serious? Holy fuck! Scout! Bo met the girl he is marrying!”
Bo laughed when he heard a noise in the background and then rustling, as someone said, “Turn the fucking phone on speaker damn it.”
Scout’s voice came over the line, “Jet is lying right? You didn’t meet a girl. You don’t even like girls.”
Bo grinned, “I do too like girls fucker. I just didn’t want to play around while I looked for mine. You didn’t either.”
His mom swatted him, “Language.”
He raised his eyebrow, “They started it.”
She rolled her eyes and Scout yelled, “Sorry Mrs. Cannon.”
Bo pulled the phone from his ear, “Fuck. You broke my eardrum.”
Then his mom narrowed her eyes and he left the kitchen, knowing he was going to get swatted again and went out to the backyard.
He shut the back door and then said, “I knew you and Jet, hell, -Crew and Steele were the same,- and didn’t date. I saw that. And I knew that I didn’t want to mess things up with my girl because I went too far or had feelings for someone who wasn’t meant to be mine.”
The line went silent, and then Steele spoke up, “You are a good man Bo. You know your heart and I’m happy for you that you found the girl you love.”
“Thanks, Steele. I appreciate that. You guys are all invited to the wedding.”
The men all chuckled and Jet said, “I really am happy for you man. From the moment I saw Farren I knew she was the one for me. So, I understand. I will be there. Front and center at your wedding. Whenever it is. What is her name?”
“Avery Jenkins.”
