“Avery. Does she live in the same town?”
“Yeah. She owns a small salon. She is freaking gorgeous Jet. I don’t know how I got so lucky.”
Scout snorted, “You and your brother both. Fuckers.”
Bo heard more scuffling and he heard Steele sigh, “Congratulations Bo. Good luck. I will try to keep them in line at the wedding, but I make no promises.”
The phone went dead and Bo looked down at it smiling.
He knew his brother would be there to support him. He and his entire crew of the SEALs he served with.
Those men were some of the best Bo had ever met. They were honorable and kind.
And they kicked some serious ass. They owned a security company, and Bo knew Jet loved it.
Though, Jet had been hurt on the job once, that didn’t stop him from coming back and making their company even better.
It had scared Bo, and he refused to work in that line of work. He was content with his lot in life as a pilot. It was enough for him.
His mom opened the backdoor, “It’s ready. And your father just got home.”
Bo walked in the house, nodding at his dad while he walked to the kitchen table.
He kissed his mom’s cheek, “Thanks mom.”
She nodded and put a plate in front of him and one in front of John.
His dad pulled his mom in for a hug and kiss, then smiled when she sighed with happiness.
Bo was used to these small bits of the love they had.
It was his favorite thing growing up. He knew how much his dad loved his mom.
Gwen got off John’s lap, and his dad winked, “Who can resist a woman like her?”
Bo smiled, shaking his head, and his dad leaned forward, “Your mother tells me that you have some news.”
Bo nodded, “I do. I met the girl I’m going to marry.”
A smile slowly spread across his dad’s face, “You are my son. That is for sure. What is her name?”
Bo grinned, “Avery Jenkins.”
John nodded, “Is her mother Aynsley Jenkins?”
Bo nodded, “That’s how I knew about her. Aynsley was taking a picture of me and Hudson saw it. I went to ask her about it later and she showed me a picture of Avery and that was it for me.”
John smiled, “That’s great son. I’m happy for you. I do want you to be wary though. Avery’s dad, or sperm donor rather, isn’t a good man. I know him personally. A few of his sons are just the same as he, and I worry that they are going to try to go after Avery. That her biological grandmother, Jessica, set it up that she is to inherit the business and all of her money. She is really close to Avery. Not so much to her son’s actual boys who came from his legitimate marriage.”
Bo let the words wash over him, “Will they try to hurt her? Avery doesn’t even know her father. He was never around and she told me that she knows of some of his children, but hasn’t met any. How do you know all of this?”
John sighed, “Her father’s company hired me and Will to fly their company planes. They aren’t quiet when they discuss matters between members of the board. Jessica has kicked Ashton out of running the business and he didn’t like that and has tried his damndest to sabotage it since then. Nothing has worked though, and he is getting desperate. As are his boys.”
John pinched the bridge of his nose, “You asked how we know this though. Well, in Ashton’s mind and the others that fly with us, believe us to be less than them since we just fly the plane, so they talk freely. Will and I have enough dirt on them that we could take their company down if we so chose. We have video and recording all over the plane so that if someone gets out of hand, it doesn’t come back on the company.”
Bo’s eyebrows raised, “Really? We may need that in the future. I won’t let him get anywhere near Avery or Aynsley.”
John nodded, “I know. Will is sweet on Aynsley. Has been for a very long time, but she has been so wary of men that she doesn’t see it. He was the reason she got the job as a flight attendant and he has kept an eye on her and her daughter since then. But I had no idea that you would meet Avery and fall for her. That was never part of this.”
