He shook hands with the man that opened the door and she heard him say, “Will Tate.”

“Steele Reynolds.”

Then they walked in the living room.

Will was introduced to the others in the room and to her.

And then the doorbell rang again.

Will perked up when Avery saw that it was her mom and Bo walked over to open the door.

Avery rushed forward to hug her mom and formally introduce Bo.

Aynsley and Bo shook hands and Avery hugged her mom again and they were led into the living room again.

This time, another man was there, one that looked like an older version of Bo and Jet.

He was handsome in his old age and he shook hands with each of the men, giving them side hugs and hugging his sons.

When he got to Will, he hugged him as well.

Then he turned to them. He walked up to Avery and she tilted her head back to look up at him as he was as tall as Bo and he smiled, “You must be my future daughter-in-law.”

Avery grinned at him, “That’s me.”

He gently hugged her and then held out his hand to Aynsley, “And you must be her mother?”

Aynsley shook his hand, “Aynsley Jenkins.”

“John Cannon. Pleasure to meet you both. Though I wish it were under different circumstances.”

They both nodded and he turned from them, “Bo, have the ladies take a seat. We need to get started.”

Bo led them over to a couch, and had them both sit down.

He perched on the arm next to her as John stepped forward. “We know this is strange and you don’t know why you are here, but we had to warn you and make you aware of what was going on.”

Avery grabbed Bo’s hand and he looked down at her, smiling at her, “It will be okay.”

She nodded, and John went on. “My good friend, Will and I are pilots. As you know. But lately, we have been flying for private plane company, and not commercial. We fly for a few certain companies, as it’s easier for them to fly in a private jet than it is to take a commercial flight. And because of this, they have gotten used to seeing Will and I. Most will acknowledge us and know we are there, but some, don’t care. They believe we are nothing to them since we just fly the plane. And we hear things from those men. Not good things.”

Avery held Bo’s hand tighter, waiting for John to continue, “A certain client of ours is a repeat customer. His name is Ashton Wall.”

Aynsley gasped, putting her hand to her chest and John nodded, “He has made all sorts of plans. Ones that involve you both. And a woman named Jessica.”

Avery clutched Bo’s hand, “That’s Ashton’s mom. She runs their company. Ashton used to before he almost ran it into the ground. Jessica stepped in before he could do more damage, but she is older and wants to be done. Wants to find someone to take over for her. Someone trustworthy, and someone who won’t ruin the company that her husband and his father built from the ground up. She called me to ask me if my mother and I could help her. Apparently, we have shares on the board and she wants us to side with her when she chooses a new person to take over.”

John nodded, “That would do it. He thinks he has rights to the company and is willing to do whatever it takes to have it again. Including harming both of you.”

Avery looked at her mom, “What do we do? Jessica is coming tomorrow to see us both. I don’t want him to hurt her.”

John said, “We need to find Ashton first. He won’t stop until the company is his and I know of at least six of the board members who are in his pocket.”

Avery looked up at Bo, “How do we do that? I think we need to talk to Jessica.”

John nodded. Avery pulled her phone out of her pocket, calling her grandma.

She answered on the second ring, “Avery, how are you?”
