Bo had no idea that the next message Will sent was that as soon as they got to the restaurant and the four of them got out of the car, they were herded into another.
Will went quiet after that. Not repsonding to any of the texts the team sent.
Scout pulled up Will’s location, showing them driving away from the offices and toward the airstrip.
Bo and the rest of the men were in cars in seconds, and following them.
He would get his girl back if it was the last thing he did.
As they got closer to the airstrip, they watched in horror as a small plane took off, and Bo knew deep inside that Avery was in that plane.
Steele barked out orders that they get to their helicopter to keep their eyes on them.
Bo could only pray that Ashton wouldn’t hurt Avery.
He sent up a prayer to whoever was up there that she would be safe.
CHAPTER9
AVERY
When Bo left her in the apartment, she hadn’t wanted to let him leave.
But she knew he had to get the information on Ashton for them all.
Will, the man that had watched her mom so closely knocked on the door a few minutes after Bo left.
“Your car is ready.”
Avery’s eyebrows lifted, “Our car?”
He nodded, “I’m keeping an eye on you and will take you to the airport when you are ready.”
Aynsley walked out of her bedroom, “Thank you, Will. You didn’t need to get all wrapped up in this.”
He nodded, “I did. I have more at stake than you think.”
Aynsley looked down, her cheeks pink, then she looked back up, “It’s really kind of you.”
He shook his head, “It’s not kind. I would be here no matter what if I could keep you safe.”
Avery’s eyes went wide, and her mom’s were as well.
Will cleared his throat, “Um. Any way, your car awaits. I believe that Jessica’s plane is due to land soon.”
Aynsley nodded, and they walked outside.
Will was a few yards ahead of them, when Avery turned to her mom, her voice low, “Does he like you?”
Aynsley nodded, “He has for a long time, but I have been so wary of men and relationships that I haven’t given him much of my time.”
Avery shook her head, “You should. He is a good man. I mean, I know nothing about him, but the fact that he is here, doing what he can to keep us safe? That’s something that most men wouldn’t do.”
Aynsley bit her lip, “What if he hurts me?”
Avery smiled softly, “He doesn’t seem the type. You say he has liked you for years?”
Aynsley nodded, “I think he helped me get my job with the airline.”
