She knew that they were headed for that plane and she didn’t want to get on it.

Didn’t want to be anywhere near that plane.

They pulled up, and the man in the front got out, opening their door, “Get out.”

She shook her head, making him glare at her, grabbing her arm, pulling her from the car, and shoving her toward the plane.

He made sure that she was sitting in the seat, before he came back with Jessica, then Aynsley and Will were in the plane with them, and the stairs were lifted as the pilot sat in the front, getting the plane ready for take-off.

Avery looked around the plane, seeing that the man who had brought her on the plane wasn’t there now.

There was only Ashton, the pilot and a man sitting in the back corner of the plane.

He had dark hair, graying at the temples, with cold, dead eyes. Like her grandma had said.

This had to be Sean.

Avery turned back in her seat, not wanting to even look at Sean.

Ashton walked past her, sitting down by Sean as the motors started up, and the plane started taxiing down the runway.

Avery held onto the armrests, and wished that Bo was at her side.

Jessica grabbed her hand, “It will be okay. I hope.”

Avery only nodded, staying silent.

As the plane got higher, Avery shut her eyes, hoping that Bo would be coming after her.

She knew he wouldn’t let this stand. That he would be there and find her, no matter what.

The plane leveled out, and they flew in silence for a few minutes before Jessica unbuckled her seatbelt, standing.

“Are we just going to sit here? Or are you going to tell us why you took us? What were you thinking Ashton?”

He leaned back a little, "I did what I had to. You were going to choose someone else to take over MY company. I couldn't allow that. I need that company. You are the one who gave me no choice in the matter."

Jessica's eyes narrowed even further, "There is always a different choice. You didn't do what you were supposed to the first time I gave the company to you. What made you think I would make the same choice again? You almost destroyed everything you father and grandfather built over decades in less than a year! Why would you think I could trust you? I knew you weren't going to be okay. But this is a new low. Even for you. What are you expecting to get out of this? Do you think I would actually hand over the company that easily? People would ask questions and those members of the board who aren't in your pocket will wonder."

Ashton sneered at his mom, "I will have you send them an email then. I don't care. The members of the board I know won't question it and will get the others to come to my side eventually."

She scoffed at him, "They aren't stupid enough to fall for your charm. You can't fire them either. They hold too much stock. See? This is why you aren't built for this life. You don't think things through. You never did when you were younger either. Be smart about this. Take us back and I won't even press charges or let anyone know about this. I would even allow you to sit on the board. But as a silent member. If you need money, I will give you some."

Ashton stood straight, "A silent member? That's the best you can do? I would never settle for that. You are going to make me CEO, or I will torture your precious granddaughter in front of you. I already have her promised to a friend of mine and he is more than willing to punish her for me."

Jessica glared at him, “You must be insane to think I would allow you to harm a hair on this girl’s head. She has done nothing wrong. She is the only thing you have done right. Don’t hurt an innocent woman because you are a failure.”

Ashton reached over and grabbed Avery’s hair, yanking her head back, and making her eyes water.

Jessica gasped when Ashton pulled a gun out of the back of his pants, “You think I won’t use this on her? That I won’t make her suffer? I will. I have no qualms about it whatsoever. She has always been nothing to me and will always be nothing to me. The only reason she is still alive right now is because she is the key. Now, you either sign your shares over to me and make me CEO, or I will spill her blood, one drop at a time.”

Jessica sat back in her seat, “If you need me to sign it, I need some kind of official document. I assume you brought some?”

Ashton looked over at Sean, then let go of Avery’s hair.

She heard Sean unbuckle his seatbelt, then he was walking toward them.

“Ashton. That is enough. You don’t need to threaten my future wife.”
