His spine tingled, and he let go of his orgasm.
Letting it flow from him, into her.
Her core clenched over and over, and he groaned against her skin, “Cara mia. Cara.”
She was breathing hard under him, and he collapsed onto the bed next to her, and pulled her close.
He shut his eyes, trying to calm his racing heart, and loving that he finally had her where she belonged.
“I love you,” he whispered against her hair, and she sucked in a breath, “You mean that?”
“I mean it. I have loved you for years.”
She kissed his chest and it felt wet, and he looked down at her in alarm, “Cara?”
“I was simply scared that I had run you away. I know you were dealing with a lot, but after I confessed my feelings, you didn’t talk to me.”
He shook his head, “Carano. I love you. I have for so many years, but I did not want to scare you away by telling you my true feelings. I knew it was a lot.”
She shook her head, “It wasn’t. I was in love with you too.”
He smiled, kissing her. “Good.”
He reached over to the bedside table, and pulled out a box, opening it to show her the ring he bought for her years ago.
It was a two-carat oval cut diamond with small triangle cut diamonds circling the band.
Even Gio didn’t know about the ring he saved up to buy for two and a half years.
She sucked in a breath as he slipped it on her finger and she looked up at him, “Really?”
He grinned, “Really. Marry me.”
She nodded, and he kissed her, “I love you.”
She smiled, “I love you too.”
SIX
HARPER
After they layin bed for a little longer, Vincenzo pulled her from the bed, “My mother no doubt wants to talk to you more.”
Harper smiled, putting on a white sweater and brushing out her long hair.
He put on blue jeans and a white T-shirt.
“I didn’t bring your presents. I should have. I bought you a few things over the years, hoping one day I could meet you and give you the presents I bought you.”
Vincenzo pulled her into his arms, “Cara, next week may be Christmas, but in my eyes it came early. My gift is you. Here with me. I just claimed you as mine. I think that is the most perfect present. Ever.”
She smiled up at him, “I think so too. I still can’t believe I’m here.”
She let out a yawn and he smiled, “Tired?”
She nodded, “A little. I slept a lot on the plane. First class seats are amazing. I got to lay down and heavens it was wonderful.”
He grinned, “I am glad. Let us eat a little, then you can sleep. Okay?”
