He got a large shirt of his and put it on her head, then handed her a robe and some panties.
She got dressed and he pulled on some sleep pants and a robe as well.
Together they woke everyone else and once Gio got there, opened presents.
It was the best Christmas ever and later, they called Jackie, Joey, and the kids.
They loved their presents they got, and Harper promised that she wouldn’t stay in Italy forever. She needed to come home and get all of her things, but she told them that Vincenzo wanted them to visit, and the kids jumped up and down in excitement.
Harper knew she was lucky in her life to have them.
After saying goodbye, she went to find Vincenzo with his family in the family room.
Lucia had small glasses of wine, but Vincenzo wouldn’t let her have any. “Just in case you are pregnant.”
Lucia’s eyes went wide, “We need to plan the wedding right away.”
Vincenzo nodded, “As long as Harper is mine, I don’t care what happens.”
Lucia grinned, “We are going to have the best time.”
Harper knew they would. Lucia treated her like she was her daughter and Harper loved it.
Elena and Elio also treated her like their sister and Gio even treated her as if she were his little sister. She was still baffled by him and how he was serious one minute and a goof ball the next.
And she loved being part of another family, never imagining she would have one, let alone two.
She thanked her lucky stars for her life.
As long as she got to marry Vincenzo, that was all that mattered.
SEVEN
VINCENZO
ONE MONTH LATER.
Today was their wedding day.
Out of respect for the other Don’s and their families, Vincenzo invited them, but was wary.
Gio told him that he would offend everyone if they weren’t invited to the wedding, and he didn’t want another war over it.
Vincenzo had agreed, not wanting Harper in anyone’s crosshairs.
He hadn’t let anyone get close to him since the Agosti’s, and he worried that something could happen.
Carlo assured him that he and the guards had everything in hand, and that Aldo would keep an eye on Harper until she was at his side.
Vincenzo paced in the small room, waiting until he was told it was time.
Gio and Elio would stand as his best men and Gio was kicked back on a chair, his legs spread before him.
“You are going to make me start to pace. Calm down.”
Vincenzo shook his head, “I can’t. I am worried that something could happen.”
Elio stood, “Carlo has it handled. Since he took over for Enzo, has anything happened?”
