“Let me walk you out,” I offered, and we both knew it wasn’t because I was a gentleman. It would look odd if I didn’t walk her to the door. I walked all my meetings to the door, even the men. So, if I wanted to keep flying under the radar, I had to treat Cherry with the same level of respect.

When we got to the door, she turned around, batted those pretty blue eyes up at me, and said, “Just to let you know, I started taking it up the ass a few weeks ago. So, if you’re interested in more than just my mouth, I’m full service now.”

Gotta love an honest businesswoman.

“I’ll keep that in mind,” I replied as I opened the door for her.

We had just finished shaking hands when Onyx and Magnus came walking out of the elevator. Magnus gave me a knowing smile, but Onyx just kept walking, letting himself into my office. They knew what I did, but they didn’t judge me for it. They were just as bad as I was.

Once we were all behind the closed doors to my office, Magnus asked, “Will we all be doing business with that pretty, little lass?”

“She’s with the agency,” I informed him, and his face lit up like a Christmas tree.

Though Magnus was married, he wasn’t faithful. At six-foot-one with dark blonde hair, green eyes, a physique that saw the gym regularly, and more money than he could spend, women flocked to Magnus like moths to a flame. The dude was charming as fuck, and no one cared that he was married. Granted, neither did his wife.

Fresh out of college, Magnus had made the mistake of getting Kristy Lawson pregnant, so he’d done the right thing by her, even though they’d only been fucking for a handful of weeks. Things had seemed to be going well enough until she’d had a ‘miscarriage’, blaming all his long hours of work for the stress that she had suffered. Determined to make things work, Magnus had nearly killed himself balancing work with Kristy’s demands, and when he’d finally had to make a choice, he’d done it after finding her in bed with some random fuckboy. With divorce the clear choice, Kristy had insisted that his neglect was the reason behind her unfaithfulness, and Magnus had been too exhausted to care. For reasons that were his own, he remained married to her, and she lived in France somewhere, staying quiet as long as Magnus continued to finance her expensive lifestyle. She also had a different guy every other month if her social media posts were anything to go by.

As for Onyx, he was also married, though unlike Magnus’ wife who’d done him the service of leaving him the hell alone, Onyx wasn’t so lucky. Jewel was the snake that no one had seen coming. After Onyx had been featured in Forbes as one of the driving forces behind Kingston Industries’ success, women had gone after him with all the finesse of a five-star general. It hadn’t helped that Onyx was six-foot-two with dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and built like an athlete in his prime.

Jewel Walker had been the one to get past his defenses, luring him in with the fake promises of not being like the rest. Though not deeply in love with the woman, Onyx had liked her well enough, and when she had announced that she was deathly ill with no health insurance to help cure her, Onyx had fallen for the ruse. As soon as they’d said their vows two years ago, Jewel had miraculously been cured, then had begun going through Onyx’s money like it was a never-ending waterfall of cash.

Six months after seeing her true colors, Onyx had moved out of their penthouse, and he only dealt with her if he had to. He didn’t feel bad about cheating on her, either. He had stopped fucking her regularly as soon as he had moved out, but she still had that glow about her, not even pretending to be married to him in more than name only. His fuck-up was that he’d hadn’t had her sign a prenup. Believing that she’d been at death’s door, he’d thought it’d be crass. I actually felt sorry for the poor guy whenever Jewel made an appearance in his life. Luckily, it didn’t happen often, though often enough.

Though I wasn’t a fan of cheating, I didn’t blame them for seeking their pleasures elsewhere. Neither marriage had been forged from love, and it wasn’t like their wives were any more faithful. They were both cold-hearted arrangements born out of the love of money, and it still left me bewildered at why they didn’t just get divorces. Sure, Onyx stood to lose a lot, but I’d gladly pay the price tag if I thought that he’d accept.

“I might just have to make an appointment with our newest potential business partner,” Magnus said gleefully.

“Well, if you do, you’ll be please to know that she recently started taking it up the ass,” I informed him. “She wanted to share the good news in case I wanted to book her for more.”

“Gotta love a girl that’s opened for business in all three of those precious orifices,” Onyx smirked. “I haven’t had a tight piece of ass in too long.”

“I’ll file that under things that I didn’t need to know,” I drawled out.

“Forget pussy,” Magnus said. “We need to get to that lunch early. I hate showing up late.” Magnus had a thing about punctuality.

We really weren’t the kiss-and-tell kind of guys, so I agreed. “Yeah, let’s go. I don’t need any extra bullshit this week.”

“Fucking Beau,” they both said in unison.

Yeah, fucking Beau.

Chapter 5

Keris~

Normally, I wasn’t one to give into my nerves. I wasn’t big on worrying about what I couldn’t control, so I’d say being level-headed was one of my strong suits.

Nevertheless, I was nervous now.

Earlier today, I’d gotten a call from my father, and he had insisted that we needed to talk. Now, while I didn’t dislike my parents, we weren’t exactly close. Most people that grew up with ambition being one of the four major food groups, affection and consideration were scarcely ever on the menu at home. Sure, my sister and I were close, but we’d had our fair share of nannies and housekeepers, so that Mom and Dad could make their millions. I had love and respect for my parents, but I could also go a few weeks without speaking to either one of them.

So, when Dad had called to tell me that we needed to talk and that it was important, I had immediately felt uneasy, my mind automatically concerned for my sister. Her health was the only dark spot in our lives, and I loved her enough that her wellbeing mattered to me greatly.

Letting myself into my parents’ house, I automatically headed for the kitchen. I wasn’t sure why I always did that, but I did. Maybe it was because the kitchen was the only room that we’d had ever gathered in, even if it had been just for the holidays.

“Mom? Dad?” I called out.

Leaving the kitchen, I headed towards Dad’s den, not really knowing where else to look. Since they’d been expecting me, I couldn’t see where else they’d be.
