Two rings sounded before a man picked up on the other end. “Did ye miss me already?”
“Is this Andrew?” Chloe said in a perfect British accent that sounded very refined.
“Aye.”
“My name is Cleo, I’m Faith’s sister.”
“Och, for real?”
“Yes, for real.”
“Could ye haud on please!”
“Yes, I’ll hold,” Chloe said and smiled at Faith, who was grinning with a hand covering her mouth.
We could hear Andrew whisper in the background, and Logan was laughing since he was the only person who understood what his brother had just said.
“Hi, Andrew. Nah, this isnae a prank. We just arrived in Seattle and guess who was here to meet us?”
“Och, yer sleekit bastard. Are ye trying to kill me and Derek?”
“Hi, Andrew,” another male voice shouted in the back ground and I guessed him to be Derek.
Logan laughed but Chloe leaned in and spoke.
“So, it seems your brother has wooed my sister.”
“Ah know, but Ah dunno how he managed to do so,” Andrew said.
“Well, I can tell you that Faith looks very happy. Do you think he’ll be good to her?”
“He better, or Derek and Ah will whip his sorry arse.”
“You’re so sweet, Andrew,” Faith said and blew a kiss at the phone.
“Logan says you want to meet me,” Chloe continued with a smile.
“Aye… very much.” was the prompt answer.
“So what are you two doing for New Year’s Eve?”
We all looked at Chloe and I wondered where she was going with this.
“Ah dunno, why?”
“How about I send my plane to bring you here and we could all have a fabulous New Year’s Eve. Would you like that?”
“Bloody hell, that would be grand,” he exclaimed with excitement. “Did ye hear that Derek? Cleo wants us to come see her.”
We heard muffled talk in the background.
“Nah, Logan already said it isnae a joke.” Andrew explained to Derek. “It’s legit.”
“So are ye coming or what?” Logan asked.
“Do ye need to ask?”
“All right,” Chloe said with a smug smile of satisfaction. “We’ll take that as a confirmation, and we’ll get together a group of festive people and have a wonderful New Year’s Eve here in Seattle. Pack your things and expect the plane tomorrow. I’ll have the pilot contact you directly.”
