“You could do that every night if we lived together.”

Lumi moved closer, and I rolled onto my back. She propped herself up on my chest and looked into my eyes. “Where would we live? Here or my place?”

“Obviously here. I just remodeled the kitchen, and ye even helped me paint. Plus, the rent is cheaper.”

“I don’t have rent. I paid for the apartment with cash.”

“Good for ye, but ye got to admit that the location of this place is great.”

“Hmm… you’re right, but I have a better view, and my building has a lift.”

“So how about we toss a coin and let destiny decide?”

“I agree that this is a good apartment, but the lack of a lift is a deal-breaker to me.”

“Why? Exercise is good for ye.”

“We’re talking about having a family. Do you have any idea how much stuff you need to pack with you when you have a baby? My apartment has dedicated parking and a lift. That’s going to make our lives easier when we have children.”

I looked up at the ceiling. “All right. Ye have a point, but if I move in with ye, I want my U2 poster to have a prominent place.”

“In the bedroom?”

“In the living room or kitchen.” I raised my chin to signal that I was firm on the matter. “And I want things to be a little messy.”

“No.”

I showed a tiny distance between two fingers. “Just a little messy. Yer place is like a museum.”

“I have cleaners, Damian. They expect me to tidy things up before they come over.”

“It’s fine. Give me time, and I’ll get both ye and the cleaners used to a home that’s a little more relaxed.”

“I’m too tired to discuss this in the middle of the night.”

I spun a lock of Lumi’s hair around my finger. “Me too, but…”

She waited. “You didn’t finish your sentence.”

“I was goin’ to say that I’d rather discuss with you than not be with ye.”

Lumi yawned. “That’s sweet, but we’d better get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a busy day.”

“Why?” I yawned too.

“If we’re packing your things and moving you in with me.”

“Damn, princess, ye go from one to a hundred like a race car.”

Lumi smiled and cuddled up against me.

“Was that whole experiment a scam?” I yawned. “Ye said ye didn’t like closeness, but look at ye now.”

“Consider me cured.”

“Are ye saying that I did the trick?”

Lumi kissed my chest. “I would say that youarethe trick.”
