“It’s not a prank. We’re dead serious,” Damian declared, but he had a few pints of beers in his belly and couldn’t stop smiling. “I really love Lumi.”

“And ye, Lumi. Do ye love my brother?”

“I’ve always loved him, and I still do.”

“Prove it.” Kit placed her hands on her hips. “Let me see ye kiss.”

Damian didn’t hesitate before cupping my face and kissing me long and hard.

“Enough, I didn’t tell ye to wear the face of each other.” Kit’s suspicion had lifted, and now she was laughing. “I can’t wait to see what the others will say on Saturday.”

“I hope they’ll be happy for us,” I said.

“Awk, I’m sure they will be. Now, what are we drinkin’?”

Damian nodded to the bar. “Let me get ye somethin’.”

“Thanks.”

The three of us moved to the bar just as Logan entered the Pierced Pig and spotted us.

His height, broad shoulders, and short hairstyle were similar to Damian’s, but no butterflies fluttered around in my stomach as he approached.

“I didn’t know ye’d be here,” he said as he hugged me.

“We didn’t plan to. It was a spontaneous thing.”

Logan smelled of whiskey, and from his loving behavior toward me, I could tell he was already a little drunk.

“I went to visit an old friend. Why didn’t ye tell me ye were here? I would have rushed right over.”

“Hey, Logan,” Damian gave a single nod and pulled me back a little.

“O’Rogue, I thought you were off work.” Logan slapped Damian’s shoulder.

“I am. But this isn’t work. Ye’ve met my sister Kit before, but it’s been so long that ye might not remember.”

Logan shook Kit’s hand before he returned his attention to me. Leaning in again, he kissed my cheek, whispering in my ear. “Did ye get my text?”

“Yes, I got it.” I moved my head back and gave him a polite smile.

“I can’t wait to take you on that date we talked about.”

Damian straightened up to his full height, and before I got a chance to respond to Logan, Damian blurted out, “She won’t be going on any dates with ye.”

Logan’s eyes slowly moved from me to Damian and back again.

“Logan.” I cleared my throat.

“Yes?”

“I know I agreed to have dinner with you, but things changed. Damian and I are together now.”

Logan’s brow wrinkled. “I know ye’re linked together. I was talkin’ about after ye end the experiment.”

“After we end the experiment, Damian and I will still be together,” I clarified. “As a couple.”

“Hmm.” Logan crossed his arms and watched Damian with his face turned to one side.
