“Are you going to tell Maya before the children?” Noah asked me.
“Maximum and I talked about it, but the problem is that someone has to stay with the children. Neither of us wants to miss her reaction, so we’ve decided that we’re going to surprise both her and the children at the same time.”
“Is Maximum still doing the treasure map?”
“Yes. We’ll go to the home like normal and tell them we have a surprise. Maximum is making them a treasure map, and then the kids have to work together to find clues until they have the address. Once we get here, we’ll let them explore the house before we eat lunch together.”
“It sounds like a perfect plan.”
“You’ll be there, right?”
“Do you have to ask!” I grinned. “I’ve been part of it all from the first time you saw the house. I’m not going to miss the best part.”
We walked hand in hand toward the orphanage. “I’ll have to work until nine, but then you can come over.”
Cupping my face, Noah whispered, “I’ll be there, and you’d better prepare to wake up with a red face from all our kissing.”
To my surprise, his sexual innuendo didn’t make me anxious. Instead, there was a genuine excitement inside me when I licked his upper lip. “I can’t wait.”
