He grows scalding inside me, behind me, and I feel his joy in sharing this with me, in finding his peak as I find mine. My body tightens again. Just as before, the second climax is stronger than the first as he jets inside me.
But those crimson tendrils soak into my skin as my pleasure is drawn into him. The waves seem endless and I am distantly aware of the others getting a hint of the pleasure between us. The heat.
Then Caine swallows it all.
Chapter 36
Caine
No one wants to move, but food gets ordered and plans get made. Horan rejoins us when everyone is dressed. His amber eyes are bright and I know he experienced some of what transpired. But he says nothing.
Onyx curls against my side in one large chair, her body clad in her scanty silk shorts and my shirt again. But her head is pressed to my chest, and her hand is a gentle warmth on my bare stomach as Ruin and Gage talk to Markus near the counter. Both males seem relaxed. More so than usual.
Amoret and Nisha are on the couch, Tanner is sprawled at his mate’s side. All is right with the world.
Nearly.
Lilah jerks her chin to the balcony and I nod. Onyx lifts from my side, giving me room without a word. There is no confusion or sadness in her gaze now. It was part of the reason I agreed to a group feeding. She needed to see for herself that Lilah’s heart is securely Ruin’s … And perhaps I did too.
I lean down and kiss her forehead and then her soft lips. Her sigh is content. Easy.
The need remains inside me despite the exorbitant amount of lust I consumed. I want her as much now as I did in Velvet Sin. And I do not believe it will ever fade.
I slip around the chair and head outside. The distant drone of traffic combats with the wind so high up. I peer at the horizon but cannot tell what day it is or what time. It could be twilight or nearly dawn.
Everything has been a blur since arriving in Miami. I feel older and yet younger at the same time.
Lilah turns at the rail, her smile sweet as the breeze ruffles her hair. “Hey,” she says softly.
I grin. “Hey.”
Her dark head turns back to the view around us. “I like her,” she says.
“As do I.”
She snorts. “Oh I know.” I nudge her as I lean over the rail too. “But really, Caine, Onyx is … perfect for you. She seems to share your passion. Your drive.”
Warmth flares inside me.
“And she’s beautiful,” Lilah adds. “Kind of reminds me of those acrobats you were telling me about.”
I laugh and she turns a bit to watch me.
“I missed that,” she says. “Your laugh. The real one.”
My mood sobers. “It is not as hard as it was days ago. But I’m not deluding myself into thinking it will all fall in line immediately.” She nods. “I want to get to know her. I know the sex is phenomenal. But do we share the same interests outside of the bedroom?”
“Have you spoken to her about the deal? The one she made?”
“No,” I admit. “I will. But I don’t want to press her. To force it before she is ready.” My sigh is heavy. “Without the cases, she will not be let free from their bargain for another year. I don’t want to wait that long to be with her.”
“Regardless, we have to find the cases,” Lilah tells me.
“We will.”
“You seem awfully sure of that,” she says, her tone dry.
“You’re not?” I ask and she snorts. “Miami is only so big, Lilah. If Helios has the cases in the city, we will find them.”
