“Good at what?”
“Relationships and shit.”
“Me neither, I guess that just settles it.”
“Settles what?”
“We’ll have to figure it out together.”

Graham:
I’ll be home in two weeks. I found a place in town
Julia:
Okay.
Graham:
Are you okay, kitten?
Julia:
Mel is getting suspicious.
Graham:
I haven’t said anything to Wes. I promised you that the ball was yours, and I’m readywhen you are.
Graham:
I’d like to tell our friends.
Julia:
It’s more complicated than that.
Julia:
There’s family to tell.
Julia got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen. She heard the door open, and Melody bounced through with her arms full of sewing material for Penelope’s flower girl dress.
“I’m here! Late, I know. But with donuts!”
Julia subtly winced at the thought of the overly sweet pastry and went into the fridge for water. She leaned against the counter and watched Melody unpack the bags on the sewing table, adding them to the growing pile for Mia’s wedding.
Melody walked to the kitchen island and looked Julia over. “Don’t tell me you want to cancel? You’ve been a hermit for weeks.”
“I fell a little behind, so I’ve been playing catch up. It’s okay, Mel.”
“Are you gonna tell me what’s going on? Was the lumberjack an asshole, does Wes have to kick his ass?” Julia couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of the twomen going at it, not that it was not in either of their natures.
“Nothin’, everything’s fine.”
