While he nursed, Zebbie stared at Raptor. Raptor wriggled his fingers; Zebbie kicked happily.
“It’s not fair that he warmed up to you so quickly,” Walren grumbled. “He took longer to get friendly with my friends!”
Raptor waggled his eyebrows. “That’s because I’mwarm.”
“That... was a terrible joke,” Walren groaned.
Raptor cackled. “Maybe he wants to be friends with me.”
“Maybe.”
The alpha inhaled sharply. Then he whooped, pulling away to dance around Walren’s room.
What kind of alpha got so happy over a baby? Raptor, apparently.
Raptor returned with a squeaky, bright pink flamingo stuffie, shaking it above Zebbie’s head. Zebbie grabbed at it.
Raptor handed over the toy without a fight. “He likes my gift!”
“It’s bright pink. Of course he likes it.”
Raptor grinned and cooed at Zebbie, reaching closer to touch Zebbie’s head. Except he froze an inch away, glancing uncertainly at Walren.
“You can pet his head,” Walren said.
The alpha rumbled, pressing his cheek against Walren’s as he carefully stroked the top of Zebbie’s head. “You are both precious. All three of you.”
Walren spluttered. “Three?”
Raptor slid his other hand around Walren to cover his belly.
Walren blushed so hard, he could’ve fainted. “I’m not—”
“Not yet,” Raptor whispered in his ear.
Oh, gods.
“We should get a shopping cart as a pet to complete our family picture,” Raptor said.
“F-family?” Walren choked. “What?”
Raptor had only just become his bossyesterday.
Walren turned his head, only to find himself nose-to-nose with Raptor. He went cross-eyed trying to focus on Raptor’s face.
“Oh,” Raptor murmured. “You’re—”
A loud click shattered the tension between them.
Both of them looked up; Walren jerked away from Raptor, feeling guilty.
Hassel stood in the doorway with a huge grin, phone camera aimed at them. “That was a beautiful family picture,” the butler crowed. “All you’re missing are the bright pink pickup lines in the background. But I can always add them in later.”
Raptor laughed. “You sure love those pickup lines. Send me that picture.”
“Are you going to make it your phone background?” Walren blurted. Anything had to be better than his hole right there on Raptor’s phone.
Hassel’s smile was full of terrible intent. “Let me caption it with a pickup line.”
