Inside the bedroom, I let him slide to his feet and kissed him one more time before reaching for his shirt buttons. What started out as carefully undressing my omega turned into both of us stripping the clothes off each other, damaging fabric, sending buttons flying, and at one point, catching a bit of skin in a zipper, but we were too frantic to stop for such things. It was my skin and a finger rather than anything more sensitive, but I’d deal with any bloodstains later. As soon as we were both naked, I tumbled my mate onto the bed and dropped to my knees to taste him. I’d imagined this moment and dreamed of it, but as he let out a whoosh of air and buried his fingers in my hair, I had to acknowledge I’d undersold the experience.

Taking him deep in my throat, I bobbed up and down, sucking and licking, scraping my teeth lightly over his skin while he whimpered and called out my name. My mate, my omega, my love. He tightened his grip and poured his cum down my throat.

I swallowed every drop and licked him clean before testing his slick and finding him more than ready for me, but I still spent a few minutes stretching him out, both for his safety and pleasure and mine. He’d just come, but as I worked him, his cock was coming back to life.

Finally, I placed the tip of my cock at his hole, pulled his legs over my shoulders, and pressed inside to paradise. I’d always heard I’d know my mate when I met him, that I’d scent him and step right into life together, but nobody had mentioned what it felt like to join our bodies together. Nobody, nothingcould compare as I drove in and out, urged on my omega who was jerking himself off between us, fully hard again and writhing underneath me. As he groaned and milked himself, cum painting my abdomen and dripping down onto his, my balls tightened and I came for the first time in my omega’s tight heat.

My knot swelled before I even finished, binding us together, filling him even more. Carefully, I shifted us so he sat atop me and I could see his face, the one, if he was willing, I’d wake up to every morning soon. And then I reached up and brought him down to where I could mark him, fangs breaking skin and filling my mouth with the coppery taste of his blood.

When my knot shrank, we lay together for a while, cuddling, learning the feel of one another, and much later, I remembered dessert…

“Cake, omega?”

“I could eat.”

Chapter Eighteen

Everly

“I’m starving. Do you want coffee?” Fraser’s velvet voice roused me from the deepest sleep of my life. No nightmares. No dreams. Just perfect darkness and peace.

“Coffee. Shower. Five more minutes.”

He chuckled and kissed the back of my neck in a way that made me want a hell of a lot more than five more minutes in bed. “Such a grumpy omega in the morning. I love it. Stay as long as you like. I’ll be back with treats.”

Treats and more sleeping sounded good. I hoped one of the treats was him. I was scared to get up, to break the fabric of the cocoon of love and lust we’d crafted the night before. Reality was right outside the door, waiting to blast us with things like bills and due dates and schedules.

And the things I’d done.

Instead of going back to sleep, I turned over onto my back and rested my head on my arm, listening to the sounds of the alpha of my dreams making coffee. Running water. Clanking the coffeepot onto the burner. Sifting coffee into the basket. Opening the fridge. Lemon cake, coffee, and Fraser sounded delectable for any meal of the day but this morning, I was particularly starving—for all of it.

But cake wasn’t on the menu, I assumed, as I heard chopping. The scent of frying butter, onions, and peppers filled the air, followed by the whisking of eggs and the sizzle of them pouring into the pan.

He was making me a proper breakfast. In all my chaos, Fate found it fitting to match me to a man who was, as far as I could tell, almost perfectly perfect.

I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. While I rinsed the soap off my body, he knocked on the frame of the door and stuck his head in. “You found everything you needed in there?” he asked, and I watched through the foggy door as he pulled out a brand-new toothbrush and a stack of folded towels.

I opened the door and stuck my head out. “Shampoo. Conditioner. Body wash.” I pretended to look around. “But no alpha.” I pouted out my bottom lip because dramatic.

He chuckled and shook his head. “Save that thought. You’re hungry, and my wolf won’t let me fulfill that need just yet. One hunger at a time, sweet omega.”

If his wolf was so concerned with feeding me, I’d have to be careful or need new pants. A few minutes later, I toweled off, brushed my teeth, and walked out with only a towel wrapped around my waist.

“You want to wear a pair of my pants? I have comfy ones. Unless you have somewhere to be?”

I shook my head. “I have nowhere to be, actually.”

“Come to the kitchen. Breakfast is ready.”

I put on his pajama pants and, true to his word, they were the softest I’d ever worn. I might have to steal them. When I walked out, I chuckled at the scene. The table was set with omelets stuffed with veggies and ham and gooey cheese. But there were also thick slices of cake on the side. “I was hoping cake was on the menu. We didn’t get to try this one last night.”

Fraser looked at me with heat in his stare. His eyes roamed my body, and I shuddered as though it was his hands instead of his gaze. “The Triple Chocolate Threat tasted good but it was better licking it off you.”

My cock sprang up, volunteering for the licking part. “I thought you wanted me to eat.”

“I do.”

“Then you’d better stop looking at me like that.”
