“Sit, omega. I might have gone overboard. It’s our first breakfast together. I’m enjoying all of these firsts immensely.”

We ate breakfast together like an established couple who had been together for decades. There was no tension between us. Still a rock in my stomach, but no underlying current of stress with his wolf or mine.

I had guilt and remorse to work through, but my alpha didn’t seem to hold a grudge.

We cleaned up together and spent most of the day in bed. I didn’t want to leave. Not ever. He was mine and after everything I’d done, I was his. He’d mated me and marked me so thoroughly that for a moment, I’d forgotten it all.

“Do you have to work tonight?” I asked.

“No. I was actually going to ask you if you wanted to join me at the club tonight.”

I swallowed. Seeing all the impact play and getting turned on by it was one thing, but participating? “To play?” I asked.

“Yes. You’ll be safe with me. I swear it.”

I closed my eyes for a second, assessing the way my nerves bundled in my stomach. It wasn’t anxiousness. The butterflies were pure excitement. “I know. Yes. Yes, I’ll go.”

“Good. You’ll need to come up with a safe word.”

Chapter Nineteen

Fraser

Finally!

We’d first seen one another outside the club, and I’d given him the tour, but we’d never had the chance to use any of the equipment, to play…to see if what my omega thought might be his favorite activity really would be.

Although spanking benches were rarely reserved—there were several available, and most people did not spend the amount of time with them they might with some of the other dungeon furniture, I had reserved my favorite one.

For my omega’s first experience at the club, I would accept nothing less. While he sat in the conversation area with some of the other owners and their omegas, I’d taken my toy bag with me to the bench and carefully cleaned it.

One of the dungeon monitors approached me. “Sir, that was wiped down by the last person who used it and also by staff last night.” Nobody had used it since the night before, since I’d reserved the whole evening. We probably wouldn’t be using it for long, but I wanted it when I wanted it. When Everly was ready.

“Thanks, Douglas. I know, but this is special. Our first scene here.” Anywhere, but I wasn’t going to get that deep into things with him.

“That’s exciting. Congratulations to you both. Do you want me to keep people back?”

“No. He thinks he’ll like having others passing by. I offered him a private room.”

“Very well. Enjoy your evening.”

“I’m sure we will.” At least I really hoped so because if he hated it, I’d miss playing. We’d still belong, but I didn’t want to scene with anyone but my mate. Some were fine having theirspankings and such outside their permanent relationships, but I preferred what felt like true intimacy to me.

Returning to the couches, I found Everly watching me. “Ready, omega? Or would you rather visit some more?”

“I’m a little nervous, so maybe let’s do it now?”

Tate, Bronson’s omega, offered him a shy smile. “My alpha ordered that bench special, a few months ago. He said it was the nicest he’s ever bought.”

“Thanks.” The wobble in Everly’s voice made me want to tell him we should wait, but he stood up and offered me his hand. “Let’s go, alpha.”

“It’s supposed to be fun,” offered another omega, Echo, quickly quelled by his alpha Samuel. “I mean, it is.”

We headed toward the stations on the main floor as the buzz of talk among those we left behind rose higher. “Echo always wants to try everything and he gets a lot of joy out of life,” I told him. “But he’s right. If you don’t enjoy it, say so, and we’ll stop. What’s your safe word again?”

I knew it, but I wanted to make sure he remembered in this stressful moment.

“Avocado.”
