Chapter 1

I hate when hot guys ruin their own hotness by opening their mouths to talk. -Reina

Reina

Holy hell. His pictures really didn’t do him justice.

That’s my first thought when my roommate’s hot older brother walks into our shared dorm. Immediately followed byI’m in so much damn trouble.

The man looks like Charlie Hunnam fromSons of Anarchy. Shit, my kryptonite. I was a kid when the show originally aired, but now I stream the show just for glimpses of the bad boy. Sophie’s brother has the same shock of blonde hair and blue eyes as her, but that’s where the comparison ends. He’s incredibly masculine, and I can tell that there’s a six-pack under the tight green t-shirt he’s wearing. I send my hormones a silent message to shut up when they threaten to riot and notice every little detail of the hot soldier.

Immediately, I sit up straighter in my bed where I had been looking through the newestCosmoand engrossed in a quiz on whether I was a bad bitch or not. So far, I was in fact a bad bitch and would not be winning any sweet girl next door titlesany time soon. But this was not something new about me, so I shoved the magazine under the nearest pillow when the hottie entered our room.

“Reina, this is my brother Brian.” Sophie’s voice is a little less chipper than usual and I take stock of my newish roommate. Over the past few months, we’ve become close. She looks a little pale. I look back to the hottie who is examining me like I’m a tasty treat and he has low blood sugar. I glance down at my clothes. Do I look okay? Black yoga pants and a ragged t-shirt. Great first impression, Reina.

“Nice to meet you, Brian,” I say in my best unaffected voice. I mean, I am aCosmo-verified bad bitch after all. “I’ve heard a lot about you.” And I have. Sophie worships her older brother. That’s why I’m surprised that she isn’t jumping up and down that he’s finally here.

He smirks. “I’ve heard a lot about you too. Saw a few of your pics with sis on Instagram too. You look even more beautiful in person.”

I blink and my eyes widen. So, the hottie is open to flirting, huh? I cock my head to the side. Little does he know I’m the queen of it. “You look just like the pictures your sister has shown me, soldier boy.” I scan him up and down and then shoot him a grin. “Looks like your style has improved slightly since that pic your sister showed me of you with the cowboy hat and your diaper falling off. Sure hope your ass keeps your underwear up now.”

He shoots his sister an irritated look. “You showed her that pic, Sophie?” He shakes his head and chuckles. “I should have torn that picture up when I had the chance.”

She hits him lightly in the chest. “Nope, I’m glad you didn’t. It’s a cute one. Reina’s just giving you a hard time. She’s hard on everyone when she first meets them.”

He cocks an eyebrow. “Is that right, princess? Are you tough on everyone or am I just lucky?”

I pretend to study him. “I think it might just be you. I’ve heard a lot about pretty boys like you. Been warned about them a lot actually.” Which is true. My mom would hate Brian on sight, just for his good looks and cocky attitude alone. Not to mention the soldier thing. That would drive her crazy.

“Really?” he asks. He sticks his hands in his pockets and rocks back on his heels. The movement outlines the bulge in his jeans, and I struggle not to look down. “You think I’m pretty, princess? Because you may be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

His blue eyes gaze into mine and I find myself unable to look away. “That was some line, soldier boy.”

“Not a line,” he murmurs and continues and to stare.

Finally, Sophie clears her throat and socks him hard in the stomach. Brian rubs his stomach and sends her a look of intense aggravation. “What was that for? I’m being nice.”

She rolls her eyes. “No, you’re being flirty. With my roommate. And I say no. No way in hell. So, look away.”

I giggle and pretend to look out the window. For a moment, I forgot that this man is off-limits. Sophie is an amazing person, and I won’t ruin our relationship by crushing on her brother.

We both back off, and Brian takes a short tour of our room. Like a five-second tour, because it’s the size of a postage stamp. Sophie’s side is as neat as a pin, while mine is…well, I like to say it looks lived in. Luckily, Sophie doesn’t mind that I’m a bit messy. Not like my mom always did. It was also infuriating to her that I was so disorganized. Sophie just chuckles at it. That’s one of the many reasons I love having her as a roommate.

I almost blush when he examines the pictures on my wall. He takes a long time looking at the pictures of me and my bestfriend Amit. I can tell he’s holding back what he really wants to say. He looks over at Sophie. “Nice room, sis.”

When they go to leave, he glances back towards me from the doorway. “It was nice meeting you, princess.”

I smirk. “Nice meeting you too, soldier boy.”

He winks at me. “Make sure you watch me go. I can promise you my ass can keep my pants up now.”

I watch in amusement when he shakes said ass as he walks out the door behind Sophie.

I can’t stop my giggle. But also, that ass. That ass was amazing. Sigh.

Chapter 2

I’m completely bewitched by her. Unfortunately, this curse doesn’t seem to work both ways. -Brian
