“There won’t be any arguments.” Noah turned to Frankie. “I told you in the very beginning that I wouldn’t move you until something bad happened. Something bad did happen and now you are getting moved into my place.”
“Oooo Papa Noah is not here to play.” Dominic whistled before turning to her. “You better listen to him. Papa Noah can get pretty strict. What am I saying? He is super strict when his Daddy side comes out, but he will protect and love you like you’ve never felt before.”
And that was what she was afraid of. She was afraid that she would fall in love with him even more, and once she had enough money to find an apartment, he would tell her to leave.
Frankie didn’t want her heart broken, but it seemed like it was going to happen anyway.
How was she going to survive living with him, him taking care of her, and not get hurt in the end?
“Everything is going to be okay,” Noah gently calmed her. “Dominic, can you go grab the prescription from the pharmacy in a couple of minutes? Frankie and I need to have a talk about her punishment, and then we are going to get her stuff from her apartment.”
“The prescription won’t be ready for at least an hour and a half. I need to call it in, and then they’ll have to have time to fill it before you go in,” Dr. Mike informed them all as he packed up his bag. “If you have any questions or need anything, I’m only a phone call away. It was nice meeting you, Frankie, and I hope you can live a stress-free life to the best of your ability.”
Frankie waved as he walked out of the room.
“I can pack up her apartment if you want. That way, you guys can be here and not have to worry about anything. I can grabTrent on my way to help, so it won’t take that long,” Dominic suggested.
Frankie opened her mouth to speak, but quickly closed it when Noah gave her a firm look. Right. She wasn’t allowed to talk right now.
“You can either let Dominic and Trent do it, or you and I can go later, but you won’t touch a thing,” Noah said. “You aren’t going to pack a thing if it’s just us two.”
Her shoulders sagged. At that point, it would just be better for Dominic and Trent to go and do it. It’s not like anything in her apartment was private. She had Lita with her. Everything else was a few clothes, her toiletries, and a couple of kitchen appliances. That was it. That was what her life boiled down to right now.
Frankie pointed at Dominic.
“You can pick up Trent on the way. When you are coming back, you can grab the medicine from the pharmacy. I’ll pay you.” Noah softly spoke before turning to her. “Thank you for letting me take care of you. If you need anything, let me know and I’ll do my best.”
Nodding, she relaxed into the couch and took a deep breath. Everything around her was changing, and she didn’t know how she was going to cope with it all. She figured Noah would do his best to help ease her into everything.
Dominic left, and it was only the two of them staring at each other for several minutes.
“Let’s talk about your punishment,” Noah finally said, breaking the silence.
CHAPTER 20
FRANKIE
Punishment.
She was about to be punished for lying to him, and she deserved it. She had this guilt inside that she wanted to get rid of, and she knew the only way she would be able to do that was if she got punished.
Without thinking, Frankie got up from her seat and walked to the corner, putting herself in timeout.
“Wow, peaches, what are you doing?” Noah asked, slight panic enveloping his voice. “You don’t put yourself in timeout. Come here.”
But Frankie stayed there. She had lied to him, and she needed to pay for it. This was how she was going to do it. She hated timeouts, always got in her head, but it was the best way to punish her.
Gentle hands wrapped around her shoulders, bringing her out of the corner. Fighting against his hold, she tried to escape their grasp and put herself back in the corner. She needed to be punished.
His hands moved to cup her cheeks, making her look at Noah in the eyes. “We do not put ourselves in timeout. You said it wasa hard limit, and we don’t do that. I would never stick you in the corner when you told me you get in your head. Never.”
Frankie stared at him.
“I never want you to put yourself in timeout again. That is off the list of punishments you will ever get from me. Understand?”
She nodded. Frankie wasn’t expecting him to be this upset about her putting herself in timeout. She was expecting him to leave her in the corner to think about what she had done wrong.
But once again, Noah surprised her.
